Logic Grid puzzles come with a handy interactive grid that will help you solve the puzzle based on the given clues.Logic-Grid
Five people walk into a video store: three girls - Veronica, Sydney and Nina - and two boys - Sean & Nicholas. Each person will select a movie and a snack and go home to watch their chosen selection with someone they love. It's your job, as an employee of the video store, to know who selects which movie, snack, and with whom they will watch their movie, which is also the person/people that accompanied them to the movie store. Yes, you're a nosy employee but that's your job.
The movie store was bustling with happy people all in search of the perfect movie:
Nina was running around the store searching for the new release she really wanted to see. When her Dad finally found the cartoon she squealed with joy.
The squeal got the attention of Nicholas who was internally squealing when he found the movie he was looking for in the suspense section.
A helpful girlfriend of one of the guys held onto the movie Leo's Life while he got his snack, that wasn't chocolate or buttered.
Veronica had just had a fight with her boyfriend and it was her sister's idea for Veronica and her to get a comedy to try and help cheer her up.
Veronica rolled her eyes, in jealousy, at the girl and her boyfriend who planned to watch the thriller movie, "Where Are You?"
The person who rented "Purple Grass" got huge buttered popcorn - enough to share with her two movie buddies.
Second in line to get regular popcorn were the people who rented the movie Onion Run.
Having just eaten dinner, the brothers decided not to get popcorn, the chocolate M&M's, or nachos.
Sean walked by the suspense movie poster "Yesterday" while munching on his nachos.
Everyone went home and enjoyed their snacks and their movies.

Holy! I'm not spending that much time on a grid.
Doesn't work:
* Girl and boyfriend watch "Where Are You?", but answer has two brothers watching it.
* Person who gets buttered popcorn shares with TWO movie buddies???
* Nicholas finds his movie in the suspense section, but it is actually a thriller.
Geez - looks like we need better movie (rentals) reviewers...

Clue #6 suggested "Where are You" was the thriller; while Clue #10 said "Yesterday" was the thriller.
So which is it? Or did I just read something incorrectly?
I'm was confused by this teaser, and I don't get confused that often.

As for two movie buddies I guessed Nina since it says that her Dad found the movie, but in the grid it's her mom who's accompanying her.
But still: two thrillers?
But still: two thrillers?
I'd like to point out that I rejected this when I reviewed for all of the reasons mentioned. I think it would be fun if it were fixed.
Ditto to everything above - too many clues contradict each other.
This one needed all kinds of proofreading!
this teaser needs to be removed and/or fixed... the answers bluntly do not fir with the clues.. the girl and her boyfriend say where are you? and so how can two brothers see that movies... and again u have 2 different movies called thrillers.. i am very dissapointed with the people that approved this teaser... the answer and questions need to changed...
hard and confusing
tigershelton.. or w/e, you need to choll out. an leaver her alfks alone
I understand that this has some kinks in it.... I don't know why it was allowed in with all these errors. I obviously put this in without checking it carefully enough... my bad... I'm in the process of figuring out how to get this fixed.
very hard!
Nice try but I tend to agree. Too many conflicts in answer and clues. As you stated in your comment, you are trying to fix it - just go into the correct a teaser and make the changes you feel are necessary to make this teaser really work.
Good try, but I also agree with the comments regarding viewer, movie type, title and friend errors. I gave up after I discovered the third error, figuring I wouldn't be able to salvage it. Keep trying! You'll get it!
one of the editors fixed the problems, everything should be fine now. THanks editors!
Sorry, I just tried it again, and most of the errors are still there.
Your puzzle still shows two different names for the thriller movie.
there wasn't two thrillers. there was a SUSPENSE and a thriller. they are two different things! i read the comments, and i saw that there is a suspense and a thriller. i thought it was fun. the people who said bad things about it must have not gotten it right! i liked it, though.
Thanks for fixing the puzzle. (Beachbabe -- it apparently was corrected by the time that you looked at it. This many people aren't just imagining the same thing.)
Cool cool, glad I tried this when it was fixed!
The only thing I was stuck on was the whole Mom and Dad thing, but I gathered enough from the clues to decide that the girl Nina had a Mom and Dad watching. Whew!

Luckily I tried it after all the fixes. Apparently, though, the fixes made it too easy. I have never solved one with this many variables on the first pass through the clues. Still, it was fun. Glad I waited til it was fixed.
ehhh???
Yeah, the "two people" she watched the movie with weren't in the grid, but Mom is in there and Dad is mentioned, so I got it. I still think the grid needs a correction. I know it's been corrected once, but it could use a little tweak. It's still pretty easy if you ignore the errors.
I hope you manage to correct it soon, as it would be a shame not to. Keep them coming.
I got it right the first time! This was so awesome
It looks good to me it must have been corrected. One thing I think might have been misread by some is that fact that someone walked by a poster for a certain movie. This does not mean that that person rented that movie, it simply was to show the genre of that movie
That was really cute and fun to do thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice puzzle. Not hard and not confusing. The early comments are not on point.
sorry, but I'm still having problems. Before reading the comments, I had no idea that Nina was with her mom and dad--an assumption that you should make clear in the beginning. Also, it says that Yesterday is suspense in the last clue, but Sean is watching a drama? good idea though
I don't know if any changes have been made since all of the above comments, but I got it on the first try. Thanks for a very good puzzle! Enjoyed it!
I think I know the root cause of some of the problems. Some text editors don't enter data after a special character, an asterisk (star) ampersand (and sign) dollars pounds and so on, when constructing the grid the compiler used an ampersand between Mom and Dad and also in M and M, I am sure it was for brevity, but I agree it is confusing till you get it. I didn't want to use the ampersand character in case the same problem occurs in this comments window, but I will enter one as the last character just to see. &
I think some of the people who thought there were two thrillers, may have been confused by the last clue; Sean walked past a poster for the thriller, it didn't say he rented it.
