Ha! Got me there!
eternally? I've ripped off staples before!
I thought it was a vampire!
Where's my car?
Hehe, good one! That one got me thinking!
Well - I'll never look at my stapler the same way again:]
hehe quite good.... got me there.. thought it was a vampire bat
Nice little teaser.
Haha! cool teaser! I thought it was a vampire!
I thought it was a vampire too!
Thought it was a zip-fastener. No way a vampire bat joins anything, eternally or otherwise. Stapler is good.
I'd have to agree with Mogmatt...there is nothing eternal about staples or staplers
Vampires eternally join you to your fate of being a vampire...
It couldn't be a vampire because the riddle says 'bloodless victims' humans bleed when bitten! I got it but i had to think for a while, good teaser!
Gd points made by Wizard Magus and Glennyboy02!! And I gotta agree with Mogmatt16 and club!! It's a confusin one but that makes it gd!! =¬S
A VAMPIRES VICTIMS ARE BLOODLESS ONCE THEY HAVE BECOME VICTIMS, THEREFORE IT WOULD HAVE FITTED THAT PART OF THE PUZZLE.
Good one... I thought it was a power cord ie. plug into the wall, but I guess that's not exactly eternal either!
what about vampires and spiders?
i thought it was either a brown recluse or a black widow... both of which live around here... yikes!
honestly i thought it was a vampire or sumthing along that sort but then i thought to myself thats way to easy and it cant be the answer so i kept on guessing and im like naw they might be a dumb person and might make it a really easy answer, then when i saw the answer i was like im the dumb one now, good teaser
I thought it was teeth...except for the eternally joined thing...good one.
first of all, you put "what am i" after describing the thing as it and secondly, a staple doesn't hold for eternity. Infact, i just stappled and unstappled something. But without the mistakes it would have been clever
VERY NICE! at first i thought it was a snake, then a cat, then a teacher, then a pencil. Stapler. Good one.
How come you guys are always like "great teaser" or "good job johnson?" If everybody just said what they really thought the world would be a better place. I am DaRealestDon
First, I got this one right away. That does not necessarily make it easy. I have been equally stumped by supposedly easy teasers. Second, how about a little literary lattitude when writing riddles? Some critics are a little too picky about the use of some words, like eternally. I would guess that most riddles can not be taken literally, word-for-word. Even Tolkien referred to teeth as white horses on a red hill (The Hobbit, Riddles in the Dark).
What were the chances? It could have been anything! I thought it was going to be some made-up creature, and i also thought there were customs to stop people just making up jokes and putting them on braingle.

Too cute. I can just imagine a staper that looks like a snake - nice marketing idea!
You cought me in your web of deception .. very effective misdirection! The very staple of a good riddle!
The comment above mine is too funny!
This may sound silly but I thought is was a fork

I must agree with the MANY people that
think the clues don't work.
Misdirection is when it leads you away, not when it makes a false claim.
How does it dole out fate??? Dole means: a giving or distribution of food, money, or clothing, etc. How does fate fit here???
How does "it" have might??? A stapler has no might on its own.
How is it eternal??? Staples are removable or the pages can be pulled apart???
With better clues, this would be really clever.
But only one of the clues work.
Plus, the title is not accurate.
I can't give this a thumbs up.
sorry

I thought it was a snake, before I saw "bloodless" (and then I didn't know what on earth it was until I saw the answer).
that was dumb. whoever wrote it made it sound like it was a snake. if you give clues that are all bad, NO ONE is going to think of a stapler!!!!!!!!
I was thinking of nails but I discounted them because they are not eternal bonds. A staple is better than nails, but if I had thought of it I probably would have discounted it for the same reason.

Too cute! Too cute! I will pass this one along to my friends!
Some of you all have to take a chill pill. Every riddle takes some latitude in regard to poetic license.
Even though I thought about staples, but passed on that to find something with an everlasting bite, it was a decent riddle.

Intuited it pretty quickly Therefore, FUN. Failed yest. crypto miserably and yet good at anagrams
i think it would have been better if i knew what in the world a slaper was.
Crappy and vague. Your clues should lead to one answer only. Better luck next time.

I thought it was teeth! lol
i thought it was a vampire too.
i am new to this, but its seems to me many are quite critical of an art the don't know...literary license, every heard of it?...if not, i'll put it another way...its not about the real meaning of the word but the image it portrays...write that down, its classic....but fairly good, i know some folks who will be thoroughly confused by it...
ok this was a really um odd comment. i thought it was a vampire....i dont even see how a stapler fits but oh well not my teaser.....
Way to go, vikingboy!.....Sheesh....We all have poetic license, don't we? This was fun...and, I believe that Houdini, the master of misdirection and illusion would have enjoyed this. I did.
i thought that it was a vampire. llooll

I thought it was a vampire!!!!
wow, would of never thought of that one.
good one. that waz clever i thought it waz a vampire.
I thought that this was a too easy I got it right away, but good job
you got me on that one.
I was trying to think of an animal.
I was trying to think of an animal.
yayy i got it!
and stop causing fuss about it, its just a teaser, its meant to be fun. if it was too easy i bet loads of people would complain about it too
and stop causing fuss about it, its just a teaser, its meant to be fun. if it was too easy i bet loads of people would complain about it too
Wow! Very nice!
For the record, I got this one right. Took a wild guess, but it happened to be right. Having said that, I think I got it right because I didn't take everything in the clues literally. Think outside the box, people. It helps, believe me. And finally, to play devil's advocate, it's called a "comments section," not a "nice comments section," or a "don't-be-mean comments section." We're free to critique the teasers, positively or negatively, so don't get on a person's case just because they're "mean." If someone doesn't like a teaser, they can say so. Ideally, they should give something to support the claim, but not everyone's going to do that. Regardless, let bygones be bygones. Anyway, I've said my piece. Have a GREAT day, everyone!!
i think you r all idiots. u r a bunch of nerds.
I got it within a second. It must be all the stapling I do at work. I liked the verse; it was cute.
hey yo. yeah, the comment section is to let the writer know what he/she needs to work on. so if someone sayst that they dont like it, dont tell them to stop saying all the mean stuff. but that doesnt mean you can say mean things without reason. i think that was a good teaser cuz it fooled a whole bunch of ppl and thats what they are supposed to do. so plz stop telling ppl what to write if they dont like it, they can say so. also, if youre gonna say that its stupid, you should have back up info on why. like state what you dont like about it. just so the writer knows what he/she needs to work on. thank you for your time.
this one is great!!! i love it!!!!
oh! How cute! you did gooood!!!I add this one to my fav list
and yes I thought it was a vampire. But you did write Bloodless. again I realllllllllllllly thought this one was like so cute. Keep them coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My first though was vampire but then I figured there had to be a twist there was no way it was that easy.
zI thought it was a rivet, that could probably work. o well, got me a gain.
My, my how many here with wounded pride because of a wrong guess. Misdirection is a part of the game, and this teaser was played very well. Good one.
HEN HAO!
Well, PeaceJo, at least you can say you got 'em talking. I got the answer almost immediately, but I've worked in an office for many years. In fact, my trusty stapler is on my desk now. But like others, though I got this riddle right off, I've found others impossible that many people found easy. So ya never know. But I liked this one.
i,too, thought it was a vampire. You did a swell job and just remember, opinions are just like noses, everybody has one. I know, I cleaned that up considerably, but I agree that if they are going to complain they should offer constructive criticism. Thankfully, we don't all like the same things, but come on people, until you can do better, try a little kindness.

I thought it was a shish kebob skewer! It joins bloodless pieces of meat.
That was a really good, staple teaser. Oh, sorry, I mean stable teaser.
I sure didn't get this one. Didn't even have a guess. Good teaser.
I never thought "vampire" because they don't "sit and wait" for their prey. They get out on the prowl. At first I thought "snake", but then most don't sit and wait, either, but some do. That's when I thought it must be "spider" because they DO sit and wait on their webs, and then they suck the blood out of the insects they catch. At least MOST species of spiders do, anyway! LOL
I sorta agree about the "eternal fate" of a stapler as a part of the riddle was misleading, though. However, I thought it was a pretty good teaser.
Some of you folks need to lighten up and just have fun with this stuff instead of taking it sooooo seriously!

i thought it was a fork
HA! That was AWSOME!! I was thinking "Oh my gosh- I know this one! It's a vampire!" Everyone else, get over it- you got it wrong- so what?!
Didn't get it but thought it was a good teaser...............
Hahahahaha... I was thinking something completely in the opposite direction! Got me!
"Poetic license" has nothing to do with this teaser. When the clues don't equal the answer it's not an excercise in creative thinking. It's not misleading. It's just wrong.
All I could think of was a vampire, but I knew that couldn't be it lol.
Well SPIDER and SNAKE are what came to me, but couldn't work the "eternally joined" into that answer. Never thought of stapler...
Nice poetry.
Nice poetry.
FANTASTIC...really liked it!
i thought it was a vampire . obviously i was wrong...but...HOW DOES A STAPLE DOLE OUT FATE??? neat riddle though.
That's not a riddle; that's a trick question!
Very confusing...thought it was a vampire!! Good one though
HAHAHA, I loved this one! My stapler has quickly been moved to the other side of my desk, but terrific teaser!
What I really love is that everyone who said it sounded like a snake and it was stupid for being a stapler... would have complained if it HAD been a snake saying it was sooo easy and how could it have gotten through the reviewers?! Whatever. It was perfect the way it was.
And by the way, giving charity is not the only definition for dole. Dictionary.com people, use it!
Dole (v) - To give out in small portions; distribute sparingly

I never would of gotten the answer to this riddle, and I love riddles! Just like the majority,I thought it was vampire, too. I also would like to know how "thefred" came up with the answer,"fork"?
I'm ok at riddles, but I would have never gotten this one. That's not to say that it isn't cute though! I read the answer and thought it was a good riddle. Doling out fate works perfectly fine...think about it.
good one! I got too hung up trying to think of animals/insects, etc.
Very funny the first thing I thought was easy it`s a vampire . It was a good one but you could use a better title the others are a staple cant eternally join something it can be removed.
Not my bag sorry
That was good
Oh and by the way I thought it was some kind of hair comb?? WSE
Okay, I used to work with a staple gun a few years ago, and as part of my work I accidently put a staple through my finger
Surprise answer. Got me good, and love when that happens.
I thought it was a vampire too!
HMMMMM got me good.
Eternally!! I break staples and take papers out of a staple!!! Not a very good word choice. Sorry!
You people are not very helpful to the writer just discuraging. The teaser was not that bad just needed to be wored a little different but he did stump most all of us.
well i knew it couldn't be a vampire that would be way WAY WAY to easy, but i didn't get it anyway. i thought the parody was nice: creative. cooli
wow! u made me think! but while holding the staple, i gues staple, so wow! i got it... its cool!
wooowwwwww, niceeee. i'm...speechless
I was not even close!
i seem to be the only one that got it right!!! yay me
that was a good one... never woulda' thunked it!
I got it within a second. It was very easy, but, then, people are borrowing our (college library's) stapler all the time, so my mind just naturally drifts in that direction.
Still, the riddle was cute. I enjoyed it.

That was fun, you got me there
Good job!
Good job!
I also took it to be a Vampire or somtin!?! But not bad.
haha!I thought it was a vampire!Goob one!
haha!I thought it was a vampire!Good one!
my poor paper... but that's okay.. i have a staple remover!!!!
I thought it was snake, except I was wondering about the bloodless part. Stapler never would have guessed. Good one you got me!
Ya goy me too....gotta get my thinking cap cleaned....thought it was a Vampire....duh
A little dramatic.....
Cool teaser. You vampire lovers are a little spooky!
I was thinking "fork," but forks don't exactly join anything, certainly not eternally. Never would have guessed a stapler, even though there's one sitting on my desk.
Kinda easy, but I found it quite enjoyable!
RERELY, ALMOST NEVER, DO I OFFER A SECOND COMMENT, BUT AFTER READING ALL THE COMMENTS ABOUT MISLEADING etc., I MUST SAY IT WAS RIGHT ON.
EASY AND TO THE POINT!
GOOD JOB!!
EASY AND TO THE POINT!
GOOD JOB!!
Vampire, too...lol
lol i thought it was needle! NICE!
I must be in the wrong place. Murray giving a thumbs up, what has transpired. I thought it was a good one, even though I didn't get it.
I liked it. Not much in life is 'eternal', so when it is seen in a teaser, i'm happy to take 'eternal' as 'a long time' and not necessarily as 'forever'.
I think the Stapler does have might in it's own right. Have you tried pushing staples through six sheets of paper without one?
To summarise, give the guy a break! Just because you didn't get it! (okay, neither did I, but I got as far as understanding that it wouldn't be something living)

I thought it was a vampire, cos when he bites someone they become vampires
I thought it was hard but the clues are good. I didn't get it but when i read the answer i realized i was on the wrong track. I kept thinking something with fruit which made me think of insects.
Great job!!!
Great job!!!
Summer rerun time
Overall, not a bad teaser. I did get it pretty quickly, but that obviously doesn't mean it was necessarily too easy. Like some others, I did think the eternally bit was a bit much. I think that's taking "poetic license" a little too far. To use eternally, it should be something at least a little more lasting than a staple. Especially with it being put in the title as well, which seems to give it a great deal more emphasis than the rest of the clues. I loved the imagery though! I'll never look at a stapler the same again
way to easy.the last part of the sentence gave it away..if any one of you had a brain cell left you would of gotten it....ps..it was a good teaser
Boodless prey threw me. I all about the obvious, so I was looking for an animal...not office equipment.
Great teaser!!!I thought spider, then vampire, you got me! Four Stars!!!!!
You got me Too!
I thought immediately that it was a fork Fangs going into
cooked meat and tastes joined in the mouth? Must have been hungry for my breakfast!!
GOOD ONE !

Just looked at Corinas answer.
I immediately went to animals & food too? FORK sorta fits but not 100%. As I said I was hungry. This is like grocery shopping. Don't do the Teaser till you've eaten first.

Easy... and I guess, not too bad...
this one had me totally stumped. good job!
I thought vampire...this one got me. I enjoyed it.
I thought it was an earring... or an earring gun. But hey, stapler was a great answer to the riddle! I think the point was to make you *think* it was a vampire (which was my first instinct) but then throw you off intentionally. Good job.
Automatically thought it was a snake! defintely thought it was funny when I realized its a Stapler! Thats good. smiles..
really cute...even if it stumped me
Very clever! I thought of a vampire too! Nice teaser!
In my opinion, this is exactly what a good teaser is all about. Many of us were misdirected into thinking, too easy, snake, spider, vampire, boring! Then when you get the real answer, you get a giggle.
I give it a thumbs up!
I give it a thumbs up!
To all you people who think this was too misleading, I think your definition of a riddle/teaser may need a little adjustment...
As for the teaser.. Great one.. I definitely didn't remember from last year!
As for the teaser.. Great one.. I definitely didn't remember from last year!
Very poorly written. A stapler doesn't have pointed fangs, only the staple itself does. Staples aren't eternal either, hence the existence of staple removers.
I was thinking along the lines of a vampire too, but the real answer was much more fun! Nice teaser!
Well done. As a Buffy/Angel/Blood Ties fanatic, vampire was certainly the first thing I thought off...until I read bloodless. And no, the stapler itself does not have the fangs, but it says "with" and staples are with the stapler. Thanks!
My guess was the night since the clues seem to fit.
I remember reading this one before...while I enjoyed it more the first time, it was still enjoyable this time around, too. Very well written and well thought.
ha! i didn't get it...good one.
Oh my gosh, the whole POINT of the teaser is to make you think it's a vampire or snake. Don't get mad when you guess vampire and it's wrong. Things like this actually take a little bit of thought to figure out. That's why they're called BRAIN teasers. People are too critical.
Anyway, I thought it was a cute teaser. I liked it, even though I couldn't think of the right answer.
Anyway, I thought it was a cute teaser. I liked it, even though I couldn't think of the right answer.
Nice...
Kudos to bhssoccer and a nod to IM who's mellowing out
It could be a zipper too, but it is clever all the same
Good one! That is a really creepy description of an everyday thing!
We all think differently...and that's the beauty of exercising the mind with these teasers.
I was thinking "larger" because it sounded so fearful and final. I came up with a train engine which can be coupled bloodlessly to its cars in one bite...but, knowing nothing about coupling train engines, it probably isn't plausible.

Cool and creepy! I could remember reading this one before. It was still just as good!
Great misdirection! I thought this one was going to be too easy. Right, all you vampires out there?
Congrats on making Teaser of the Day!
I enjoyed it. I never would have guessed stapler (like many, I was thinking vampire), but once I saw the answer I was like "that's clever!" Anyway, good job.

Ohemgee y'all! It's just a teaser, and a good one at that! Lighten up everyone! The poetry was very very good, and just for the record, I guessed stapler right off the bat. HAVE FUN!!!
i thought it was a vampire not a stapelor
Excellent!!
haha i thought it was a vampire nice teaser!
I never get these riddles
I loved it! Very well written. I got it right away because right as i sarted thinking i happened to glance at the stapler on my desk. Lucky me!
I thought this was very well done. Misdirection makes for an excellent riddle! Creative use of words also adds nicely to its quality as a teaser. (Me getting it right without much stress? well that was just icing on the cake!)
I agree with all the comments about the 'eternal' not really applying. I also wanted to point out that 'bloodless' doesn't really apply either. I have accidentally stapled my fingers a couple times, and drew blood. Also, doctors use staples in lieu of stitches to close up wounds on occasion. I've had three staples in my head for an injury. And those are definitely not meant to be eternal.
No clue... Very well written!
Vampire, stapler, no real difference.
A Bat, a bat, not a stapler. A stapler don't dole out fate, a stapler has very little to do with fate.
One who uses the stapler on any regular basis, seals the fate of paper or envelops. I can see the analogy. I think.

i was all " grr i am sooooooo sick of stupid vampire things... grrrrrr..stupid stupid vampire things everywhere i go..." ... then the answer was stapler.. ..
I got it!
Thanks. That was fun.
Thanks. That was fun.
I love this riddle! One of my Faves!
LUV THE TEASER!!! and whoever says 'it doesn't join paper eternally!' is TOTALLY wrong. what if you leave the staple IN?!? well, it doesn't matter, the answer wasn't obvious- it wasn't supposed to be. its a RIDDLE, DUH!
p.s. luv the teaser. -Hubbamutt777

It is a bit misleading and like most others I thought of teeth and vampires. However, if you don't try, you won't learn, so thanks for posting!
I'm sorry, but I am with those who said they did not think the clues worked. They were not "misleading", they were outright incorrect. Bound eternally? Hardly - very few things (in fact, I know of none) can bind eternally, some things like nails, or screws are a bit more difficult to remove, but they do sell "staple removers" at any store, not that you need one, a 3 year old could pull apart a stack of stapled pages. I won't even bother with what was wrong with the other clues, they have been mentioned more that once in the preceding comments.
For me, this one was a no go.
For me, this one was a no go.
2.26 diff and got it in 20 sec. seems my brain got lucky lol
Not too crazy about this one. The writer went so far trying to trick the reader that the "clues" didn't fit the answer.
Wow Habs! You do not usually go off like that and get so riled up. I see your point and agree with you, but still some people figured it out, and best of all, I murray liked it. How can it be that bad if he gave it a thumbs up? By the way, I did not solve it either.
well done and simple
I answered a saw.
Solved it, with a little thought; found the clues to be correct.
Nice fun teaser, thanks!
Nice fun teaser, thanks!
Beautifully written, nice imagery!
I'm surprised by all the people who guessed it was a vampire. Anyone who has read enough riddles knows they are supposed to be cryptic, misdirecting and not meant to be taken literally. The first thing I thought was that the clues must be symbols for something else.
I delved deep into symbolism and guessed the answer was a colon or semicolon. I thought it fit because the two dots could be taken for fangs and they join clauses together eternally on paper.
