That was awesome! .. the only one I didn't get was Bell, Book and Candle, but I've never heard that before.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I didn't get Up, Up, and Away OR Bell, Book, and Candle.
I hadn't heard of Bell, Book, and Candle either. What's that from?
Fun teaser!

Fun teaser!
Like the others, never heard of 'Bell, Book, and Candle' - so also missed that one
Bell, Book, and Candle is the title of a play, and later a movie starring Jimmy Stewart and Kim Novak.
Are you sure number two isn't: Beer, Hos & Gloat?
From Wikipedia: "The phrase "Bell, book, and candle" refers to an archaic method of excommunication for one who had committed a particularly grievous sin. Apparently introduced around the late 9th century, the practice was once used by the Roman Catholic Church. This ceremony involved a bishop, with 12 priests, reciting an oath on the altar..."
Now we all know!

Thanks mosca! "Bell, Book & Candle" was a new one on me. Very clever teaser.
Fun teaser. I figured out a couple of them.
This one was fun. Got them all after some thought, but then I have heard of all the phrases in the teaser.
way to hard so early in the morning
I had never heard of Bell, Book, & Candle either. Only missed two so I'm proud of myself.
I had bell, book, and candle, but since I had never heard of it, I decided it must be something, crook, and vandal
I'm not so sure about "Scary" and "Harry"... Maybe it's just the way us Brits say it, but the "a" in "Scary" is long whilst the "a" in "Harry" is short.
That was awesome! I never heard of #6 either, so I missed that one.
thanks sweet potatoe, i had no idea about bell book and candle.
Fun though!

WOW!
I missed 4.....that was hard! But fun never-the-less!

Up, Up and Away is a classic line from Superman.
Bell, Book, and Candle is also from the Ultima Computer Game.

I had to stretch my brain in a different direction for this one, even though it wasn't too challenging. Really fun.
What a great teaser!!! It has the 'fun factor', the 'smile factor' and the 'clever factor' . Missed 3 and 4 but thought it was terrific.
oops! missed 4 and 5 , not 3 and four.
I also missed 4 and 5. Could not get it right for the life of me. That was a good one. Thanks for the post.

Never heard of "Bell, Book, and Candle" either, so thanks for the explanation.
Also, Harry doesn't rhyme with Scary where I'm from either (and I'm a Yank), but where I live now it sure does (such an annoying accent here...).

I only got two
One of them was Bell Book & Candle because I had seen the movie "Sweet Potato" & knew the meaning.
I thought this was a great teaser
Would have done better earlier, & maybe got 3 correct ha ha

"Bell, Book, and Candle" is a really creepy movie!
Never heard of the bell. . . one, and didn't think to put in names for the Tom. . . one. Besides that, I got 'em. Lot's of fun!
Um, since when did scary rhyme with Harry?? Or away with convey? Hmmm...
There's always a few prarblems getting the roims to rahm in languages wot aren't as pure as our Kiwi English.
However, part of the FUN in these, for me, is trying to second guess by considering the flag of the Teaser-writer.
Great teaser series!

... and AWAY and CONVEY rhyme in any dialect I know of ... unless you want to insist on a double syllable rhyme scheme ...
that was fun I even figured book and candle, but didn't know bell.
I actually liked this one. Glad to see I'm not the only one who never heard of Bell, Book, and Candle
I loved this teaser, and I got them all.
I really liked the movie Bell, Book and Candle, but never could figure out how Kim Novak and James Stewart got romantically involved - they are SO different. I liked her with Kirk Douglas and him with Donna Reed.
but that's just me!

6 of 7 I didn't get up, up and away. I like a challenge, but also get ticked off if I don't get them all right.
I liked the quiz and got them all right. I DID think my comment back in 2010 was silly.
loved this!
Do not know why I comment, as hardly anyone on this site anymore to read it, but here I go. Three of them were very easy, but the rest were a bit hard. However it was a good teaser and fun to figure out.
I hope someone comes along to read this and in turn gets theirs read.

I read your comments... I liked this one too.
Excellent, pretty easy...I was in love with Kim Novak!!
Fun puzzle, but I did much better in 2013 than I did today. And, Babe, I love your comments.
Fun and enjoyable teaser but maybe a little too easy. I got all of them very quickly.
I find it helps to say the ends of the words out loud.
Gr8 concept, fun puzzle, I too never heard of: bell, book & handle?
