Riddle
Riddles are little poems or phrases that pose a question that needs answering. Riddles frequently rhyme, but this is not a requirement.Riddle
I can help you have some fun,
Sometimes I get stronger from the sun.
If you never give me a break,
You will find I may never again wake.
I am optimistic on one side,
I can be short, fat, tall, or wide.
Rectangle, cylinder are just a couple of my shapes,
And maybe I can even help you make some videotapes.
Sometimes you have to wait long for me to get ready,
Just hold on for a few hours and be steady.
I can help you get around to the market or mall,
and even help you make a call.

Answer
A battery.Explanation:
1. Batteries are found in many gaming systems and other devices that can be used to have fun. Some batteries are charged using solar energy.
2. This is referring to when you use a battery for a long time and don't turn it off, its power may begin to drain.
3. This is referring to the fact that one side of a battery is positive thus optimistic. A battery can come in many sizes.
4. Rectangle and cylinder are just 2 shapes among many that a battery can come in. Batteries can be found in video cameras which help make videotapes.
5. Some batteries take long periods of time to charge so you need to be patient.
6. Cars use batteries which can help you get to different places. Batteries can be found in phones which are used to make calls.

Good one.
nice!
i thought it was a cell phone to!!!

Easy - knew it after first two lines.
I got a CHARGE out of this teaser.
Number four should say "Rectangular prism" instead of just "Rectangle."
Nice teaser. I didn't get it correct. Wasn't even on the right track. Thanks for posting.
That was a good teaser, though a bit hardd . I thought it was summer, but oh well.
Great quiz I didn't get it either. I thought it was something like a blackberry/phone/camera, all-in-one type thing.
I guessed battery right away, but figured that was too easy. After the 2nd time reading it I was sure. Very nice.
I was on that track, but I had only got as far as electricity before I got impatient and hit the answer button.
Ditto, Madelulabelle. That answer button is just too easy to push sometimes!
great teaser! i had to think on that one, but eventually got it!
Solar energy batteries?
Easy but fun. Thanks
Nice teaser!
Great Teaser
I thought it was a satellite. The first clue pushed me in that direction, and the rest of the clues can be applied. Solar recharging batteries are still very uncommon.
1. satellite tv, all satellites are solar powered
2. satellites do die in orbit and are left stranded after operating continuously
3. I took this to mean the side facing the earth, where they serve a purpose. Or in some cases, as in the Hubble telescope, optimistic when looking outward into space searching for new discoveries.
4. Satellites are all different shapes, and communication satellites can transmit video (kind of a stretch for the satellite)
5. It takes a while to build and launch a satellite. Once it's in orbit, sometimes it takes a while for a non-geosynchronous satellite to move into the right position.
6. GPS and sat phones.
Really, a lot of these clues could apply to lots of things (help you get around, need power, various shapes). Still fun!

got it right.. nice one..
I got it! I got it! Thanks for a very cute riddle.
Nice teaser. Very clever, Wink
I was POSITIVE the first time that this was posted, but being another repeat I am now NEGATIVE.
I liked it, but I found it fairly simple. Good job!
nice one.
DUH!!!
I love riddles. This is a good one.
Gave it top marks.
AND... to note:
I've lost another Karma ... now have TWO neg (red) ones.
I'm assuming there are three max negs ... then chop, chop.
If you are continuing to be a member of the "hate-BB02-fan club" please remember that the "this is offensive" check-off tag to your left also can mean "this is annoying" ... so ....
... take your pick.
AND ... if this means my finally getting kicked off Braingle I guess that says I can no longer comment, vote, post or participate in other ways.
I hope I will still be able to observe ... if my dire prediction has any truth then I don't want to miss the demise of the best language learning site EVER.
Truly ironic ... huh ...
yes ... ironic (and if you REALLY have any doubt about what that means I STRONGLY suggest you "look it up").
Ironic. Those who WANT to participate and can't are monitoring those who CAN participate but won't.
Oh .,.. our early, tentative data runs indicate the presence or absence of BB02 has little effect on the number or quality of comments on the threads.
That data should become more significant the larger the sample size becomes.
I hope we are able to keep you posted.

Pretty easy but interesting teaser.
BB02 - how can you and your imaginary assistant compile any real data regarding the effect the absence of BB02 has on the site when BB02 has yet to vacate the site?
Based on yesterday alone, I'd say you being here is very detrimental to the number of comments.
There were 7 comments made prior to you showing up and only 1 after you made your apperance.
Today there was one by babe (who gets on soon after the TOTD is poted it seems) and other than mine, NONE since you posted.
Aslo, note that when you are verifying offensive teasers, it offers you 3 choices (and I am paraphrasing here)
!) This is offensive
2) This is not offensive but is annoying
3) This is not offensive.
Offensive does "not now" mean annoying. Being annoying has always been on the 'not to do' list. And is considered something other than annoying. You however, are both. While most of your comments, and you in general, are just annoying, many of your comments have been highly offensive to certain people and the site in general.

Well said YY. Maybe BB's battery will die and never get charged again.
Well written teaser - thanks for posting!
Fun teaser, thnx for posting.I find it ironic thatby posting so annoyingly about the demise of Braingle and the decline of participant numbers one would go so far as to actually precipitate said decline by having ones self removed from the site. Base comments on teasers and not direct them towards others and the problem is solved.Imho.
to YY, doodles, & mepapa ...
It would behoove (LIU) all of you to do a bit of reading to determine the differences between episodic data (the kind you talk about above ... "one-of" and "two-of", etc sort of stuff) and more long-term sampling-specific data collection before you ACT AS IF you know ANYTHING about statistical research and then PURPORT (LUI) to have arrived at "pat answers" to complex problems.
Also ... my team got quite a hoot out of your observations on my "ghost" assistant when I turn my screen around and let them read it.
Two of the team - in case you are interested in such - helped develop the "fire-and-forget" software for the Hellfire IV field artillery rocket.
It has a 97.7 dead-center hit rate (even in the hands of untrained personnel) in both the Iranian & the Afghanistan wars.
Not too shabby.
Also ... YY .... "annoyance" was Jake's (owner/operator of this site) term for why I was cinched. Not "offensive". Take it up with him.

Sorry BB but the fire-n-forget missile was the AGM114 series that can be fired from ground or helicopter. The software was developed by the manufacturer-LOCKHEED. Another of your BS stories.
Maybe I'm just tired, but there was too much going on with this teaser. By the time I was trying to figure out the last few lines, I'd forgotten the first few. Oh well!
I really liked this riddle. I got it after reading it twice. As soon as I think I am getting these, along will come one that will completely throw me. I guess that is the fun in the game! Thank you for this very entertaining riddle!
I have personally never seen a 2D, paper-thin, flat, rectangular battery - they can be a rectangular prism (which is a 3D shape), however... ;)
Just a quickie. To determine if I'm back 'on', yet.
