Oh, well, see, you're totally doing it wrong. Quote your post. You had color=blue (You MUST PUT THE COLOR= in bracketts, im just doing it for example) but you need to put the writing INSIDE color=blue and /color. Here, let me try for you, but it probly wont work. You need a key letter that is a-f.

So far, we have a) there must be some letter from A to F and b) there must be at least four letters.
How about altering hexadecimals? I'll alter white in various ways.
FFFFFF
FFFFFG
FFFFFF
FFFFG
FFFF
FFFG
FFFFFF
GFFFFF
FFFFFF
GFFFF
FFFF
GFFF
FFFFFF
FGFFF
FGFFF
FGFF
Now...
GFGFGFGFGFGF
G0G0G0G0G0
Since GFGFGFGFGFGF was very similar to FFFFFF but not quite, we can conclude that non-number non-A-F characters do have some impact.
GFGFG0G0G0G0
G0G0GFGFG0G0
G0G0G0G0GFGF
Pure RGB:
FF0000
00FF00
0000FF
Maybe non-A-F non-number characters change opacity?

Z0Z0ZFZFZ0Z0

edit:Take LR's name. logiCAlrogEr, which is light green. Note that the colour used is probably CAE_ _ _ -> CAE000, i.e. lots of red and even more green. Under the 'take all the 0-9 a-F then use the rest to alter' principle, we deduce that the logi+1+ro+r turns the text into a somewhat darker and less yellowy shade of green.

You can't use underscores, or symbols JQ.
This should be white, if bbcode uses hex for colours, which I am near certain it should.
This should be white if ending letters are omitted.
This should be white if start letters are omitted.
Aaaand this should be white if middle letters are omitted.[/quote]
(For those unaware, highlight white text to see it. Either color=white or color=FFFFFF should do it.)
Also, isn't there a no double-posting rule?
Anywho, back to the mind-dump.
After a quick Google search, http://wiki.pokefarm.org/wiki/BBCode#Color has a nice explanation. General best best seems to be either colour name or RRGGBB hex format. Unless you're a designer, but then you're probably more knowledgeable than me on this
Pokefarm suggested transparent. I imagine it just matches the background. Worth a test
[code] Also, a little OT, but I want to see if the code tags work here. IIRC, they do not. [/code]
