Very sad to hear. Two great singers in a row. : ( And both pretty young.

Take all sorrow out of life and you take away all richness, and depth, and tenderness. The capacity of sorrow belongs to our grandeur. It is the furnace that melts hearts together in love.

Ray Bradbury, 91.

One of the best sci-fi authors of all time. Thanks you.

With kids you spend the first 2 years of their life teaching them to walk and talk. Then you spend the next 15 years telling them to sit down and be quiet.

He definately wrote some great stories. I haven't read a book in quite a while... but have a few Bradbury books on my shelf I read when I did. He visited our city several times to promote things at our library... I am sure our local paper will have a write up about him next week (it's a weekly paper).

ray bradbury was, no doubt, the most significant influence on my reading, growing up. his shorts stories, as well as his books were science fiction, true, but they were filled with social truths, hints about getting along with each other and what was not going to fly, in polite society here, or on another galaxy.
playboy cornered him, for a while, and it showed in his writings, more forced and topically unlike his other writings. that was sad to see, but fame comes in many forms. his further writings were more thoughtful, with a bit of constraint on the frivolity of imagination of the earlier works.
my favorite was The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit. i can just imagine the fun he had while writing that one.
he will be missed.
bravo, ray bradbury!

Mr Snappy rode his cycle race this year. His number was 451!

The significance of that number did not elude him...he burned up that road!

Bradbury certainly was a great author!

Ok, no real hero or grand musician... but one of those people that you can't help but tip your hats to because he made you smile while you were growing up. Many may remember the name Sam Drucker the local merchant - and he was played by Frank Cady (which I admit is not a name I had in my memory banks... though I remember Sam Drucker). I first remembered him in Petticoat Junction and he latter played the same character in Green Acres. Maybe I have these backwards.. but I do remember playing the same character in both. He seemed to be about the most logical person in both series!

96 years young Snappy. He also guest starred in the Beverly Hillbillies couple of times.

Cady married his wife, Shirley, in 1940. They had lived in Wilsonville, Oregon since 1991. Shirley Cady died on August 22, 2008, at age 91. The Cadys were the parents of two children — daughter, Catherine Turk; son, Steven; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Rodney King, died today, but not of baton bruising, at least. history has always picked the characters of it's play from those who last, yet rewards of fame are far from enough for the performance they were noted for. his was a difficult role to fill. the supporters did make their voices heard, though, and will be heard again, in the next few days. salute.

Don Grady died today at the age of 68 from cancer.

He played Robbie Douglas on "My Three Sons". I grew up watching him grow up (first run shows)... I guess seeing this puts a little bit more of the thought of mortality for me. He wasn't that great of an actor, but he could still make you laugh. Time moves on!

I feel sad for his family, of course, but i especially feel bad for Ron Howard. They were quite a pair. He was a remarkable man.

Ernie had a great heart ... I live in LA and he does a lot for the USO at the LAX airport through our local radio station.

I always had a special place in my heart for him... only because of a small link... he won his academy award for Marty the year I was born. May seem strange for some... but it has come up in a lot of trival questions and I was able to answer the question often.
