Last I checked you said you were alive and kicking.

He was a great actor. his character was always spot on. i know little of him other than that and the spinoff with his daughter and maid and the neighbors .

we have reached a time when the key actors prevalent during the baby boomer television age are falling left and right.

i need to look up his bio and see what else he was involved in in life.

rip

July 23 marked the end for Sally Ride, an American icon and space pioneer. She was 60 or 61 or believe.

(say goodbye, mr "kott air")

his on air personality was certainly unique, and we will miss it.

Phyllis Diller at 95. I actually choked up when I saw this one. She lived a great life, she brought humor to millions. I think enough has been said. I know I will miss her humor. Phyllis Diller - as strange as you may have looked - you were a class act.

Actor Michael Clarke Duncan died today. He was 54.

Sad to hear this. He was a good actor, and seamed like a very nice man.

Take all sorrow out of life and you take away all richness, and depth, and tenderness. The capacity of sorrow belongs to our grandeur. It is the furnace that melts hearts together in love.

Thanks...
it is funny but at the funeral it came out that not many of the family really liked him at all!
Sad really.
I wonder what he thought of us?

also, the man who played the Cheif of Police in the Pink Panther movies, who was always being abused in one way or another as a result of Inspector Clueseau (spelling beyond my memory)

Sheriff John passed away today at 93. John Rovick, who was not a true full time Sheriff, but was on the reserve force for a time... was hired to show cartoons in 1952... until some time in the 60's. He would spend time every day wishing little kids a Happy Birthday and singing (though I remember only parts of it and it did repeat itself, and suspect he only sang part of this):

THE BIRTHDAY CAKE POLKA
From the TV Show "Sheriff John's Lunch Brigade"
"Sheriff" John Rovick - 1952

Put another candle on my birthday cake
We're gonna bake a birthday cake
Put another candle on my birthday cake
I'm another year old today

I'm gonna have a party with my birthday cake
Come on and take some birthday cake
Put another candle on my birthday cake
I'm another year old today

We'll have some pie and sandwiches
And chocolate ice cream too
We'll sing and play the day away
And one more thing I'm gonna do

I'll blow out the candles on my birthday cake
And when I do, a wish I'll make
Put another candle on my birthday cake
I'm another year old today

I remembered it with "We'll have some cake and ice cream too" but I was only about 6-8 when I learned it. I never forgot this show... and even to THIS day, when my wife's family gathers for birthdays (my family no longer gather for birthdays)..when I hear we are going to gather to blow out candles on the cake (we do this about every 2 months for everyone who has had a birthday during that time), as I walk into the room, under my breathe I sing
"Put another candle on my birthday cake, my birthday cake, my birthday cake, put another candle on my birthday cake, I'm another year old today!"

Right or wrong to the original song, this is how I remember it.,.. and dang nab it, that's how I am going to sing it!

Rest in Peace Sheriff John... you gave me a memory for a lifetime!

Larry Hagman lost his battle with cancer. Many will remember him as JR... but I remember him more as Major Nelson on I Dream of Jeannie.
