Situation
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.Situation
Once upon a time, in a kingdom far, far away, lived a man of few talents, but he was as greedy as anyone can be. He stole, he lied and he cheated only for the sake of money and his ever-increasing treasure. One day he was trying to rob a child of his money on the edge of a lake. Innocently, the child pushed him into the lake and ran to safety.
Seeing the greedy man drowning, two passing villagers tried to help him. The first one quickly said, "Take my hand and I'll try to drag you out! Don't worry, you will be safe!" The second one rushed to help as well and stated, "Here old man, over here! Everything will be fine if you give me your hand."
The old man hesitated for a second, then took the hand of the first villager. Why?

Answer
The man was SO greedy, he refused to "give" his hand to the second goodhearted villager. The first villager managed to save him by telling him to "take" his hand instead of asking for it.Hide Answer Show Answer
