Is William Shaking a Spear?
Riddle
Riddles are little poems or phrases that pose a question that needs answering. Riddles frequently rhyme, but this is not a requirement.Riddle
An abnormal hunch I had, or perhaps not.
A bit of a curve in a particular spot?
Maybe? Maybe not!
Perchance my looks were just a simple Tudor plot!
Did a homicide I commit
On those two princes?
I do not know; yet, there is no doubt that I'm guilty
If Shakespeare's writing convinces!
Who am I?

Answer
I am Richard III.NOTE: The first two lines refer to King Richard III who was known as the evil king; a deformed and malevolent ruler depicted by later propagandists and, most famously, in William Shakespeare's play, The Life and Death of Richard III (1592). Sir Thomas More's description of Richard not only influenced Shakespeare but has held enduring sway over the popular imagination of Richard's looks to this day. More wrote: 'Little of stature, ill-featured of limbs, crook-backed, his left shoulder much higher than his right.' Even given that Shakespeare depicted him as a hunchback, there is a strong lack of evidence that Richard III was even deformed. King Richard is said, however, to have committed numerous brutal murders, including the callous murder of his two nephews, Edward Prince of Wales (the uncrowned Edward V) and Richard Duke of York, the so-called Princes in the Tower.
