watermelonRegarding the hint, if you have another look at the riddle, you'll see that the first letters of each line together, from the bottom up, spell "water", and the last letters of each line together, from the bottom up, spell "melon". Since I decided that the riddle's lines would end with "melon", I wasn't able to make it rhyme.
line 1: "The afternoon" may be a good time to enjoy a watermelon.
line 2: The watermelon may contain seeds.
line 3: By eating the juicy, "red flesh" of the watermelon, you can get relief from the heat.
line 4: In order to eat the watermelon, you need to cut it open with a knife.
The title means that eating watermelon is a good way to "treat your heat" i.e. is a good way to cool down in hot weather.
