Excellent wording!
sneaky. I like it
uh.....whats an inkstand?
Very clever, good work! Liked this one a lot.
safire2191 you probably aren't old enough to know what an inkstand is. It held the ink that a person dipped a quill (feather) pen into so they could write. I'm showing my age. I never used one, but my father did. That said, I had to read this three times, AND use the hint. Well done!
well done!...
very clever, good job
WOW, CAN'T BELIEVE IT. I WAS "JUST" READING AN ARTICLE WITH THIS VERY SUCH WORD. THANKS . GREATTEASER.....
lol that's so cute!
i was looking for a trick like that, and still didn't see it!
nice work
i was looking for a trick like that, and still didn't see it!
nice work
dat was fun!! yea keep them commin'!
What is that?
yes, very cleaver indeed. job well done
Yes, very clever! I didn't bother to look at the hint.. ! It woulda helped!! I liked it! Good one!!
Oh my God! I was so clueless, and stayed that way for a minute a two even after I read the answer!
Very Good!
Very Good!
Very clever - liked it
it was clever, but i didnt get it because of the wording. You said the letters KST at the middle, beggining and end!
I don't understand it. KST isn't in the middle, then end, and the beginning. I think you worded it wrong. Also, what the heck is an inkstand?
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I get it! Very tricky!! Well done.
Not sure what to say about that one... thought it was kinda lame!
An INKSTAND is a rack or stand that is kept on the desk, and contains bottles of ink, pens, and other writing material. Well thought out teaser. A+
KST is the middle spelling of the word which joins together ink and stand. The first and last part of the word. Hope I explained it well.
tricky, tricky, tricky....that one stumped me....very clever indeed.
Nicely Done!!
Nicely Done!!
Great teaser and you got me even after I read the sentence again
Perfect word teaser - very clever
Sorry, when you read the sentence as the answer requirement indicates, it is grammatically incorrect.
I thought it was something like stinkpot. KST is in the middle, beginning and end (relatively). The letters are listed and then the positions are listed relative to the original list.
Very well done!!! I read the hint (and the sentance) VERY carefully and still had no clue
Very Clever!! I enjoyed!
You are a sneaky little bugger!!! Wow- I totaly did not get that one!! I enjoyed it!! Way to go my friend!!! Snaps for you (snap snap)
That was a bit of a grammatical nightmare. I was hooked on deciphering "8 letter word," which should be hyphenated: "8-letter word." However, still pretty clever.
I like this brain teaser, but for sure what is an inkstand.
dont like it sorry
Alright
It was good but you worded it wrong. You said KST in the middle, "in the beginning", and at the end. It should say "in, in the beginning"...the way you worded the questions the answer is impossible because you would have KSTKSTKST which is 9 characters or KST which is only 3 characters. I was thinking something like TSKSTKST or trying to make that work somehow. Good Teaser though.
Good try!!!.... but the grammatical structure of the sentence is wrong for the answer given. I think that invalidates the trick. Sorry...!!!!
Very funny! It tricked me and I enjoyed it a lot.
Well, almost! Even though it WOULD have been very tricky, it wasn't quite right, even as a tricky teaser. For the answer, you had to insert words. There's a teaser like this about words that end with gry, same trick, but it has to be worded right. Actually, it's all right except for "in the beginning," that doesn't make "in in the beginning" no matter how carefully you read it. I got it, because I knew the other teaser, its in here but I cant remember the number. You just need to find a way to word "in the beginning" for it to work right. Sorry to be a party poopoo head. I still appreciate your contribution, though. Thanks!
very fun teaser. I totally get it, Im not too sure why many people dont. IN the beginning KST in the middle AND at the end...now folks who dont get it....put it together...and you get INKSTAND. I thought it was a great teaser and I hope we get more like them!!
very cute
sorry to be so wordy! But, for some of the above comments, kst in the middle, that works. ", in the beginning", that doesn't work for the answer, "and at the end." THAT WORKS, for a teaser. "And" at the end. That's the trick! but it's not right just for the one phrase.
Excellent, probably the best brain teaser, written very excisive, Enjoyed tremendously.
I was just stating that i understood the teaser, it was fun...I wasnt getting technical with the sentence "In the beginning"..I mean I questioned it also, however...I got it and that was the end of that. It just wasnt a big deal to go ranting in the comments about how wrong it was. If it was worded how people want it worded, it would have made it easier...thus everyones reaction to it. I like how that sentence alone is the reason people are not getting it. It makes you use your brain....and thats the point...correct?? Anyway...have a good day all....til tomorrow! TaTa
I liked this one very much. It was cute and I did not get it until I read the answer. Some people just have to be picky it seems. Thanks
WOW!!! Everyone is really using that freedom of speech thing/I have the right to my own opinion thing today. Look, I thought this site was called Braingle and this was were you could submit teasers to get people thinking. From some of the comments made on this one I think that those and you know who you are should understand that and not be so critical of the ones that you can't understand because that is the point. For you to not understand hench the word brainteaser. I thought it was good and hope to see more like them. I did not get it but thats ok cause you can't win them all!!! Keep them coming!
I loved it. Just because it's not grammatically correct doesn't make it bad. It was a thinker and that's what makes it fun. It'd wouldn't have been a teaser if it was "properly" worded. Thanks!
very clever. it took me a while to figure out though.
Very clever. Don't worry about the negative comments. This is the clever part of the riddle, in that it plays with our assumptions about things and causes us to use non-linear thinking in order to figure things out. I thought it was very well done.
thats cool i like it!!!(i just didn't get it at first but i caught on.)
Awsome teaser. I love this one. I like the hidden yet revealed clues.
Really clever, and like others I still didn't get it even after looking for the trick. Loved it!
i didn't get the "in the beginning" either. this puzzle bothered me, but that's just me.
This puzzle bothered me a lot because it's not really right... I mean at the same time it is a trick question like there is no 8 letter word with kst 3 times becuase then it would be a 9 letter word.. just my opinion, thoiugh.
Hey, I GOT IT!!!! But I just wish it had been RIGHT, because if a teaser isn't right, then there's no real right answer, and so why stretch your brain if there's no right answer. I won't post anymore, but this teaser was right except for one little thing, it's not really a teaser if it's not right, but it was close to great, that's why I was frustrated by it. I didn't think it was BAD, but I see nothing wrong with posting constructive criticism.
whoa!! that was a very hard one. i stared at it for like five minutes and still couldn't get it! great job!
*ok, you guys who are talking about the way it's grammatically incorrect need to lighten up!! If it WAS grammatically correct, then it wouldn't be a good riddle!

Sorry, but everyone who thinks we are too critical, read teaser #373, called "GRY", on this site. Same trick, but it's worded right, AND it's a teaser, which is the whole point, that's what makes them worthwhile!
Haha, that was great, I love it
i almost got it this time
I thought the answer was Starkist like the tuna company. you could say it has an stk at the beggining, tks in the middle and a kst at the end but after I thought of that its the only thing I thought it could be even after reading the hint saying it was a compound word... ooh well silly me.
That was hard!
okay, I was looking at it again, and I can see how it could work: "in, the beginning", yeah, I can see that... I just wanted it to be without question, cause that's to me when they're really amazing; but I still think this was a very good one.
kinda tricky...but fun
I nowhere near got it. Once I knew the answer, I got it. However, I'm not sure that anyone got it without the hint or the answer, did they? In order for a teaser to be that, it must be solvable, es verdad?
it is a cool 1 but i have heard it millions of times b4
very good. maybe not perfectly worded but hey, still great fun
Too clever!
That was really good!!! I was thinking too hard!
i dont get it
i get it noe!
I'm glad that someone is able to see the utter uselessness of English grammar and syntax when it comes to providing sound direction Go you!!
That waz cool!! (AFTER I LOOKED AT THE ANSWER)!! Keep em coming!
Yarr.
Dang it, I'm not as smart as i think i am... g8 teaser though...
I meant gr8 teaser
Wow, that was clever; though not grammatically correct!
I had: "Smooched"?
Thinking: KST( kissed ); well it does work in 'Kiwi'?

I don't like how it's worded. If you say "in the beginning", and that's supposed to make it start with "in", then when you say "KST in the middle", that should be "kstin". You word it one way for the KST part but then another way for the other two parts.
