I thought it might mean crossing planes, but your version is good to.
I thought it was biplane.
Pretty cute, took me a couple moments to get it.
Good rebus !!
And mostly *visual*, which is what I think good rebiiii should be.

That was good.
Great puzzle. I love visual word puzzles like this one.
Easy but enjoyable.
Heehee, nice one. Me likey.
hehe! easy... but really fun! nice!
I feel silly. It was fun and easy.
I feel stupid caue i didnt get it
really good teaser but
really good teaser but
I didn't get it
but good teaser
but good teaser
I just didn't 'see it' the right way. My brain is one- dimensional this morning. Great teaser.
It was good. I didn't see it right away. Have to get your mind to back up a little bit and see the bigger picture.
I didn't see it till I took off my glasses, then I saw the X. Cool one.
Haha.... I finally got one!!! And it was so easy!! (I don't know why, but rebuses always seem to stump me!)
Awww, I didn't get this one, and I just loooove rebi! But! When I'm sad I can always find something to complain about! I thought it wasn't explain because you had an X made of PLANE, so I thought it would have PLANE in the answer.
But, if I had guessed it I wouldn't have said anything, LOL! Good one, thanks!!!
But, if I had guessed it I wouldn't have said anything, LOL! Good one, thanks!!!
I mean it said PLANE instead of PLAIN. sorry!
I agree with Shawneeo... it should have been PLAIN formed into an X. This teaser wasn't quite fair because of that deception. That's why I didn't get it.
You know what you get when you debark a plane? A really lousy canoe.
Very Cute
very nice!!
I also agree with Shawneeo and Smee. It was a little deceptive and I could only think of cross plane. It definitely should have been PLAIN and not Plane in order for the answer to correctly represent the rebus. Otherwise, good job!
I like those kind.
It was a very good teaser.
I don't think that PLANE should have to be PLAIN. In a picture rebus an image of a bee is often used for either "B" or "be." We (very much me included because I actually thought "X-PLANE...?" several times in my head) just ought to start talking out loud to our computers! If I'd said it out loud, I would have heard the answer and got the teaser right!

actually smee, i have to disagree with you, that would have just made the darn thing that much more easier. i think it was a farely good one. and plane or plain, i really dont think it matters all that much.
In a word, Brilliant!! Me gustaria mucho
good one
i did not understand it at first, but got there after 5 minutes
I also thought it was crossing planes? Good teaser!
I thought this might be "plane crash" or "intersecting planes" (geometry). I have to agree with those who found the spelling a bit of a red herring.
I wasn't playing with a full deck as I guess I didn't see rebus. So here I go trying to find P plus 7 letters & then another P. I didn't even understand the clue, the hyphens didn't mean anything. Gosh, do I ever feel dumb. But I did come up with commA for #3 and ElsewherE for #5. Great C++Man. Next time I 'll read closer.
great teaser! that was cute. And btw, i like ur name..c plus plus man haha!
ok then
@ first i thought it was "plane" then i saw the 'x'
WEll done !!!!Enjoyed it
ok
Kinda confused me at first but I got it after a sec. Very nice.
very cute! loved it. going into my favorites!!! great job!!
I agree that is should have been "plain." It was very misleading. I thought it was cross plane. Other than that, good one!
How CUTE!!!!!!!!!
Good one, keep them coming
Jacstop; i am only a spanish student so i am just asking- i thought it was "gusta" unless you're trying to say "i would like it a lot"
let me know,k??
let me know,k??
You guys are going to laugh; I came up with "plain sight." I didn't get hung up on the spelling of "plane" vs. "plain," but I saw the "X" formed by the 2 "planes," and I thought of a sight on a gun (they're usually crosshairs like a "+" but I didn't remember that until afterwards). Not a bad guess, right? Good teaser...
very easy but a good teaser at the same time
i didnt get it.....i thought you ahd to spell explain somehow when i looked at the answer........
I agree there should have been an "I" in plane.
Great. Thank you. I did not see the X until I got up, when I sat back down, there it was. Wonderful.
I thought it was Cross Plains, a location in Indiana, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and in my home state of Texas.
Good one
I thought it was "crossing the plains" as in settlers heading west kind of thing.
This is a direct quote from the teaser submission guidelines:
"Please do not submit teasers that rely on spaces to format letters in a graphical way. Because of the way HTML works, every viewer can have a different font, and the spacing will be different for each one. Teasers that rely on text spacing will not reproduce well for other users. Any teaser that uses ... or --- or spaces to make the puzzle will be rejected. These teasers will not be approved even if they are good teasers."
How did this one get through?

I thought the answer was "the intersection of two planes", as in geometry.
I didn't get it, and when I read the answer I still had to think about it for a minute before it sunk in. Good rebus. Thanks for posting.
at first I was thinking Star Wars and the X-Wing fighter planes...that or "crossing planes" in math/calculus. Explane to explain is a bit of a stretch in a rebus.
Easy, but lots of fun!
Those of you complaining about the whole plain/plane thing need to get over it. Similar or same sounds is a commonly used device in rebuses (rebi?). I liked this one.
I didn't get it, either. I kept trying to make it "crossed" something, like "crossed swords." But that wouldn't work. And "crossed planes" didn't work either.
wow omg
I saw it, then I did not see it. The X totally blinding.........
Teaser was Corrected, perhaps the X is not considered valid. Hi. fame
I rarely read the hint, so I didn't know the hypphens meant nothing. I was trying to find letters that would fit in the spaces and make words. And my FIRST thought was planes taking off and landing Xplain seemed pretty simple when I read the answer! That was a teaser, alright!! Thanks
The double P in hyphens means nothing, too!
As soon as I saw the word plane shaped like as a x and the title describe, the answer was very obvious.
What you've drawn is really X- Planes - like the term for experimental aircraft (X-1, X-15 etc). EXPLAINS could be done like that too but you shouldn't mislead by using a different spelling. Also Crossing the plains...
Too clumsy. No vote.
Too clumsy. No vote.
Did not get it and would never have gotten it in a million years.
I got this one right away!
Got it instantly, but doubted the correctness of my answer because the spelling was "PLANE" instead of "PLAIN," and I could think of no good reason why the former spelling had been chosen.
I wonder if the spelling is that way because to line up PLAIN with hyphens would have been even more difficult with the 'I' there ...
That was a really clever one. I thought it was "Two planes going down" Like in a crash, but your answer was priceless. I loved it.
Welcome back Gaylewolf. I missed you!
Welcome back Gaylewolf. I missed you!
Since there are two "planes" forming the "X" I think a more accurate solution would be "explains." And I agree with the commentator who didn't understand why the rebus-crafter didn't simply use the spelling "plain."
This plane was way over my head.
As I too was looking for "plane" I also had X-plane, and I finally settled on intersecting planes. Oh well.
I like that one!! Always nice to have affirmation by seeing the title works-
If the hyphens serve no purpose, then why are they there?
Very good!
Should've gone with "plain" rather than "plane." Or did you forget that "plain" is a word?
That would've made it too easy.
It took me awhile to get this, I was overthinking it. After I figured out that the hyphens didn't mean anything (I didn't look at the hint), it became obvious. A good
Fun, easy and entertaining teaser; I got it very quickly.
