Brain Teasers
Lazy Sam the Journalist Part 3
Situation
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.Situation
One day Sam, a journalist, received a tip that a young lady charged at the Queen of England with a knife, severely cutting her face. So Sam, being lazy, wrote an article on the Queen of England being assaulted. The next day Sam was fired for making a false article. However, Sam's source was credible. This being the case, why was Sam fired?
Hint
The tip was misunderstood.Answer
By saying "severely cutting her face" the tipster was trying to say the would be attacker cut her own face, not the Queen's.Hide Hint Show Hint Hide Answer Show Answer

If part 3 was rejected you could have made this one part three, unless you already sent them both. I love these, keep'em coming.
Lateral thinking. I like it
I like it. Very fun. (i mean, not the queen of england being assaulted but...)
Good one.But how does Sam remain in his job even after repeatedly getting fired?
But, wasn't the Queen actually assulted? Just because the attacker got the worst of the deal does not change the fact that there was an assult.
Sam ought to find a new line of work.
Sam ought to find a new line of work.
Good teaser.
I got it right but I agree with vikingboy, the queen was still charged at with a knife. Fun anyway
Sam, STOP BEING LAZY! . Great series of teasers .
good one!
i got it. but great teaser and good story. funny
I was also thrown off by "assaulted", which means "attacked". She was attacked, but not injured.
What was the Queen of England doing with a knife? Doesn't she usually knight people with a sword?
I thought she wanted to cut a cake that had the Queen of England on it.....
I thought she was getting plastic surgery! Although, I would avoid any surgeon who "charges" at you with the knife.
