Maze is a synonym for labyrinth so line 2 gave it away completely but it was still a good teaser.
A true labyrinth is NOT the same as a maze. A maze is a path to a center point that has wrong turns and dead ends. A labyrinth is an intricate path to the center with no possibility of making a wrong turn. If you faithfully follow the path you can be confident that you will reach the center and also return to the starting point.

There is no difference between a labyrinth and a maze. In fact, pretty much every dictionary defines labyrinth with the term maze. And labyrinths definitely have blind ends and wrong ways.
