Nobody Likes Me
Very few people like me.
I live in a tin, but do not change its capacity.
I am in many automobiles,
You can see me and feel me,
But I am colorless, odorless and tasteless.

A dent in a tin that doesn't change its capacity?
boodler --> yes, you are correct, but what I referred to was that if you have an unopened tin of food or a can of soda and it gets a dent, the contents will not spill. Well then also, it does depend on how big the dent is!

A dent is the material that is dented, not the air around it. A dent has substance and color (probably rust) and may have an odor, but I've never tasted one.
Very nice. You need to play "Charades" in the Games forum.
I dent is not the material, but rather a characteristic or feature of that material. It will change the capacity so far as volume is concerned, but will contain a constant mass (before and after the denting) without a rupture if density and pressure increase.
It cracks me up the lengths people will go to defend their case, sometimes. I liked the teaser, though I didn't get the answer correct.
Gas!
I would have never thought of that!
A dent in a can most certainly DOES change the capacity, as the volume shrinks. If the dent is big enough, the tin would burst.
