Just look at me you'd think I'm dead.
Yet still I am known as jolly.
Where I am raised grows fear and dread.
You taunt me at your folly.

oh my gosh....very good..liked it
this was easy but i liked your little verse! wonder why they call it a 'jolly roger.'
Haha, that was fun!
"Jolly Roger" is commonly assumed to be the English version of "jolie rouge" (French), which means pretty red. A ship flying a "jolie rouge" flag (or jack) was basically telling other ships nearby that an attack was imminent and, said politely, there would be no prisoners. The white skull and bones on a black background that we usually think would have still announced an attack, but would have been flown if the other ship(s) were given the opportunity to surrender without attacking.
Sorry to go off on this, but it is a very interesting history!

Good one, got me...
Very good. I enjoyed this.
Noyce!
Arrrgh! I thought it was a plastic santa claus that sits on your front lawn. My daughter was afraid of those when she was a kid. When I look closer at them they are kinda creepy.
The title gave it away.
For me, the title was a distraction; I put the plank together with the flag and came up with 'pirate ship'--close, but no cigar!
@Fred ... yeah, plastic lawn ornaments ... ick!
I should have gotten this, but I didn't. Good job. Thanks for posting.
The title gave... Er, Alex already said that, never mind.
