Brain Teasers
What Number Reaches 0?
Counting down, first by one place, then by two places, then by three and so on (adding one extra place each time), like this example - 15, 14, 12, 9, 5, 0. If each of these numbers were the start of a separate sequence, which would have 0 in it?
102, 103, 104, 105 or 106?
102, 103, 104, 105 or 106?

Yay! First one!

your like the only one who thinks its good. its rating at the moment is 1.62
I liked it. Its normal for a bad rating on math teasers, so don't worry about it.
thanx. at least some people like it lol lol
This could go in the TRICK category since 102, 103, 104, 105 and 106 all have a zero in them!
I thought it was a neat idea and I had fun.
This question is twisted form of:
Fifteen billiard balls racked up in a triangle would have five balls on each edge. Which number of balls would rack up as a complete triangle.. 102, 103, 104, 105 or 106?
If one realizes the intervals matter and the direction, ie. increase or decrease, does not, it is easy to work upward and hit 105. One can thereby avoid working downward from the other numbers.
It is an excellent exercize, but it doesn't even register on the tease-o-meter. (As fair warning, it should be listed as junior league.)

Well, for absolutely no reason except that I have had it come in handy in the past (math competitions, other teasers and, how do i say "soda" pong games) the summation of integers, and so off the top of my head, i knew 1-10 = 55, so it was easy from there, jsut keep adding 11, then 12... very simple, but nicely put together.
that was a great 1

Too easy, but probably fun for the kids.
I happened to know that 105 was a triangular number, so I didn't even need to follow the sequence to figure it out.
