Brain Teasers
...And We All Fall Down
Situation
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.Situation
You're standing directly under the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, MO, USA. You look up and note that the sun is directly above you as well. Suddenly, you notice the Arch begins to sway, and you realize that it's going to tip over. However, you don't know which way it is going to fall, and because of the sun it's too hard to see. (Not to mention the watery eyes you have from looking into the brightness of the sun.) A few other people see it too, and as they begin to scream, panic breaks out. Tourists are running wildly everywhere. If you run the wrong way, you know you won't have enough time to go back the other way because the crowds are so insane, and you wouldn't be able to break out of the crowd in time. Which way do you run?
Hint
Look at a picture of the Gateway Arch.Answer
You don't run. The Arch is tipping over not collapsing. Even if you didn't know which way the Arch was going to fall, if you stand directly underneath of it, there's no way it can hit you.Hide Hint Show Hint Hide Answer Show Answer

That teaser was very easy once I'd taken the hint and googled a picture of the Gateway Arch.
Very good puzzle. Perfect answer.
thanks

That is a great one!!!!
easy
EZ. PS I used to live in St.louis and the Arch sways all the time in the wind. It's supposed too. You can feel it when you're up inside it.
that makes a lot of sense
Very nice
That was easy but really fun!!! I liked this one!
I got this one EZ. Third situation I got right today. I must be good at these!
A little too easy... I've never been to St. Louis but anybody who knows what an arch is (which I would assume is everybody) should be able to figure this one out easily.
I don't know what the sun part was about though, it seemed pointless to me.
