i do not understand it.
Maybe it's not a common phrase on your side of the pond.
It first appeared in Punch magazine in the 1800s and the person giving the money gets to decide how to spend it. From what I can tell, 'chance' seems to have replaced 'choice' in the States.

I have never heard that saying, but it was fun to read.
I'm sorry but WHAT???
Freddy, it's a common saying downunder as well, but we still "take a Chance"

Good one
im very confused. please explain it
The answer or phrase?
The answer explanation is: you are asked to pay some money, then you are asked to make a choice.
The phrase explanation: It's used to say the person who pays for something gets to choose how the money is spent. So if someone complains about something they paid for, you could say it to them to say it's their choice and they can choose to take their money elsewhere.
