It may not have been a dog.
I thought it was 10,000 tons of air.
what if it was a....
GOLDFISH?!!!
GOLDFISH?!!!
Well, I thought he died
I thought - his bones weren't broken as they were crushed, his body didn't hurt as it was dead - and his ghost got up and went to the afterlife, not hospital
I guess I was wrong ;)

'10,000 tons' is a very intersting name for a pet!
I was thinking a Thousand tons of feathers, having heard a similar joke involving feathers. And not to be a nitpicker or anything, but if it's a name why isn't "tons" capitalized???
Why would he name his pet 10,000 tons?
I thought the answer could have been that it was Superman...and being the Man of Steel, 10 000 measly tons wouldn't hurt him.
I thought he was standing under something (e.g. a building, bridge, awning, etc.) and the 10,00 tons landed on that, which would leave the man unharmed. *shrugs* Oh, well.
This one is kind of a stretch, in my opinion. A better answer may have been he was on the lower decks of an aircraft carrier, w/ planes landing above him.
I agree with mironos
Yeeeah....No.
oK then. WEIRD!!!!!!
Why didnt the nameen thousand tons be capital even though it would ive it away
but i guess ill give it 5/10
but i guess ill give it 5/10
Ha ha ha....
I thought maybe tons were a unit of money. Or air pressure, there's tons and tons of air on you right now and you don't feel it do you?
But anyway, I liked it. Keep up the good work!

Silly,but funny.
Oh, and I do say that 10,000 tons is a silly name for a pet.
P.s I like Stormcrafter's answer.

i thought it was that he was swimming in the ocean and a mini tsunami came or somethin.
T_T
That's exactly like that whole..
Cowboy coming into town on Thursday, but leaving on Wednesday the next day- How is this possible? His horse was named Wednesday-
You should have said, for the answer
"The man was an underground tunnel when a giant rock fell from a cliff. The weight landed on top of him, but did not injure him because it didn't hit him."
Or something along those lines.

If 10,000 tons was his pet's name, shouldn't "tons" be capitalized?
If you changed some words, it could be a situation teaser. And anyone who names their cat 10,000 tons is bulling a cat. But it was funny
*edit* bullying
You guys can moan and groan all you want, I thought it was a great teaser! Brilliant, even though I didn't get it right... Next pet I have will be named 10000 Tons!
i thought he had died and went to hevean or something.
i didnt really like this one anyway
good 1 for trying some of your other teasers are great sorry this just isnt one of them.
u did better than me but.

lol
i don't know what to say
1. Tons should be capatilized
2. Who would name a pet Tons
3. I was thinking 10,000 tons of feathers

3. I was thinking 10,000 tons of feathers
10000 tons of feathers is still 10000 tons. Youmight not be injured due to the soft nature of feathers, but it would still hurt.
10,000 tons of feathers wouldn't hurt a bit. (Until you suffocate, and your lungs/heart burst--then it would hurt.)
10,000 tons is a retarded name for a pet, but maybe he just didn't like his pet...how would it fall on him, anyway? Can it levitate?

I thought, because of the wording "when he got up", that he got up In the hospital, so he wouldn't have to go there, he was on a lot of pain medication, so his body wouldn't hurt, and his bones had mended in the hospital.
Okay teaser, anyway.
Okay teaser, anyway.
i had the same kind of concept for the answer. i thought it was some sort of soft candle that was shaped as "10 thousand tons"
im sorry but this one was stupid as crap-- i mean i give everyone credit where credit is due, but i mean... jeez come on... a PET named "10,000 tons"??!?! thats not even creative nor witty... its just ridiculous and trivial-- at least use a little imagination not get extreme-- no one in their RIGHT mind would guess something that dumb.
This seems more like a Situational puzzle to me. It would seem you'd have to ask a lot of questions to come to the correct answer.
I was thinking he was an astronaut in space, and an artificial 'fell' on him, but having minimal gravity in space, the artificial satellite weighed nothing, so he was unhurt.

What if it was a pet Elephant?
That was kind of a let-down.. I was expecting something more inventive. "His pet" seems like an easy out. Besides, "landed on him"? Even a pebble, if dropped from high up, can kill. 10,000 Tons the chihuahua could still squarsh her owner if she fell of a skyscraper.
Like others, I guessed that he got smooshed - no pain, just damage to internal organs or something, and he died.

It looks like a Situational teaser.
Who would name their pet 10,000 tons!? It's a good riddle, but I would feel very sorry for a pet named 10,000 tons.
weird but funny!!
Shouldn't the "Ton" be capitalized?
I thought he was dead. and for all you feather people, 10,000 tons of feathers weighs just as much as 10,000 tons of bricks.
I thought he was in space where things don't weigh anything.
I thought he was covered in the word "ton" in tiny print on tiny pieces of paper.
what if it was a GIANT pet you didnt say how BIG it was did you? i think you should edit this and tell us how BIG it was
I thought it was one of those "cartoon" style iron weights with 10,000 tons printed on them. The guy wipes off the writing, and it weighs nothing!!!!
(The miracle of cartoon television!)
(The miracle of cartoon television!)
I thought it was a book called 10000tons or a piece of music called 10000 tons. an
Weird name for a pet...
10000 tons of feathers would still hurt, so long as they were kept together.
