Isn't it 1 bird in a hand is better than 2 in a bush?
I guess it depends on what you're planning on doing with the birds (sic), but the original proverb has them being of the same worth.
Hello! No, its a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
to my opinion, one bird in the hand is better then two on the bush. it means it's better to have one bird that's yours then two that aren't. think of it
If you look at it literally it isn't even a nice saying. It says that its better to have a caught bird than a free bird.
Well what I always thought of it as was that you shouldn't throw something you have away to go chasing more...an arguement against gambling; 1 dollar you have is worth two dollars you MIGHT get...
christina is right. it's not talking about REAL birds! it means it's better to hold on to what you have than to risk it all for something "bigger and better" because you could end up with nothing.
