I'm voting SaraGrace because... I'm... awesome.
I'm voting for whoever. First game, not sure what the heck is going on.
NOTE TO MOD: I will be driving to Mississippi tomorrow, which is a 9 hr drive. If I happen to be the psych person, please "re-reroll" as it will, since I will MOST likely NOT be able to be on 4 hours before the round ends. I will not be back until Saturday night, but I don't know yet if internet will be readily available for me to be on at that time on other days.

Please read the rules for this game. If you are an employee you need to vote each round to avoid being fired. Go to the tab under "Voting/ Memo" and select anyone you think is possibly the boss and then press "Vote" at the bottom to lock it in. Make sure it says "your vote was saved."
You can change your vote as many times as you want, but you must vote to avoid being fired. If do not have a voting button that means you're either boss or rat. Both have special rules which the rules detail. So go and check the rules if you are either.
Either way, you should tell us who you are voting for so that we can make lists to figure out what each vote meant. An undisclosed vote is bad news for the employees. Of course, if you are either boss or rat you also want to pretend to vote and state a false vote in order to appear like an employee. Since employees must vote, any employee who claims not to have voted and is still with us remains rather suspicious.
TLDR: Just vote for someone and tell us who it was already!
Why didn't the Libertarian cross the road?

I would be extremely surprised if everyone could be on-line at that time.
I probably won't be on until 3 hours after the round ends because I sorta need to go to school.
In other news, safetying for Gizzer for now. I feel like the psych gives us a bit of a clue since I bet at least a few of us didn't go to the introductory forum.

Sorry mod, I'll be at work 4 hours before round ends... and probably when the round ends as well. Not allowed to go online.
Maybe you should send out the psych question early in the round instead of later.
Going to lock in a vote for Logical Rog. The Librarian hasn't given us much to go on.

Absy voted for whovian probably. I m voting whov too for a majority. We need a majority to catch the boss or clear emps.
Every problem can be solved with a trick but finding that trick itself needs another trick.

Yay! Majority on me!
Last game I played no one even suggested having a majority on me... and they should have.

I feel the Boss is somewhat experienced with the evasive answer
First person I met on here was Onac but they no longer play
I'd say LR might be a good choice for a clear next round if not this round
For the sake of clearing someone I'll join the Whoviandeb vote

Guess I'll switch my vote to deb to have a majority on someone. (Though I really do doubt her being the boss since last time she was the boss, but might as well)

The answer seems to be with some thought as we can't get any clue from it except that aced is the newest addition to the introduction forum. He may be the boss.

But the chances of him being the boss is pretty high because a person who is the boss in his first game can also make such mistake.

i did check up on you saying aced posting an introductory, and i saw the post. that's why i agreed with you that aced is a possible suspect.
is the rat allowed to post the votes here? besides the boss doesnt vote of course. if the boss is missing from the list, then game's over. unless the rat posts a fake vote. also we aren't supposed to state what we voted in a previous round so even if the rat posts the list, i guess it's not allowed for us to confirm it's correct or say it's wrong. confusing.. i've never seen this in a previous game.
i'm not sure multiple posts like that in a row actually count.

I'll change my vote to a random person, so as to see if aced is really the rat. What could is this test if there's a voting list?

Wow, Mnkgyl, give it a rest with the multiple posts in a row. That's very clearly spam and shouldn't really be counted. Whenever I played a game where the number of posts counted it was always taken as non-consecutive posts to avoid spamming. That being said, I'm not sure if 15 (or 12) posts is a good fit for a clue. I know it shouldn't be easy to do to protect the boss and rat from instantly being fired, but in the same sense it shouldn't be impossible either given the activity.
I'm going to assume that Aced's post was merely a joke. It's possible that he's either boss or rat (truthful rat or bluffing boss) but it isn't very likely. I have no problem with clearing him if you fancy.

you will have to post the voting list to prove that you are the rat. If u fail to do so, you will be taken in as the boss.
No posting the actual voting list, please. That is using outside resources and this game is intended to be solved with only logic and strategy alone. The only game I've seen this allowed in was a game where cheating was actively allowed.I'm going to assume that Aced's post was merely a joke. It's possible that he's either boss or rat (truthful rat or bluffing boss) but it isn't very likely. I have no problem with clearing him if you fancy.

Please state you are voting for. Remember kids, not disclosing your vote is halfway to letting the enemy win. Also, I don't know what your logic is based on but the rat doesn't get an extra list that an undisclosed vote would help obscure. I haven't been rat too many times, but if I recall correctly the rat gets no list to vote for (since he/she doesn't vote). Nothing else besides pressing a button, really.

the rat doesn't have to keep their identity private, but usually they do keep it quiet unless revealing is part of their strategy. example if a is boss and b is rat. rat says a is boss. rat reveals identity. people may think since rat said a is boss that means a is not boss. unless people think the rat is doing reverse psychology. but you see?
always multitasking 24/7
always multitasking 24/7
In my opinion any stated claims for rat are too risky to be considered strategical. Oh sure, the rat can use bluffs and whatnot, but who believes a rat? A rat is best used in misdirecting votes from the boss and redirecting them at themselves and others. If you claim you're a rat then people are less likely to vote for you which isn't what you want. Doesn't anyone read the rules anymore?
As much as I'd love to hear who the boss is, for their sake, do not reveal the boss's identity, rat. That would be a cheap way to win. I do feel very sorry for the boss, though, particularly if they are an experienced player.
That being said, Aced could still be putting on a ruse and, while voting for a rat would give the boss what they want, we should at least not cross him off the list of possible candidates so lightly.
I'd make sure just one more time. For the boss's sake, don't report your findings again.

Okay, so I'm confused. Are you sure you're rat? The rat doesn't just not vote, the rat can't vote. If you have no voting list then you are either boss or rat. If you do have a list then you're an employee. As simple as that. I'd make sure just one more time. For the boss's sake, don't report your findings again.
Why didn't the Libertarian cross the road?
By the time Arthur Dent had successfully opened his eyes and crawled out of a peaceful night's sleep he stared eye to eye with a rough, hairy wildebeest nonchalantly munching on his much-loved upholstery. Arthur took a minute to get his bearings before he realized that getting one's bearings generally wasn't the first thing one did when coming face to face with wild animals. He went to put the kettle on for his guest instead.
Setting down a tea cup for the guest and one for himself he couldn't help but stare at the creature who had unwittingly found its way into his house. Then, immediately surveying his surroundings, Arthur realized there was a rather large hole in the middle of his house that he didn't remember being there before. Nodding thoughtfully, he sat there half-paralyzed and simply mused,
"Ah, so that's why there's been an awful draft all morning" before screaming for several minutes at the absurdity of the situation.

*facepalm* well i never been a boss or a rat in my braingle games so i really dunno what's the advantage..
But for aced saying that he is the rat.. actually i do believe him he is the rat coz i dont find any reasons for aced to just joke around..
And for LogicalRoger's reaction .. i think that is too defensive (at least for me) and i got that feeling that you are the boss messing it up..
So switching to LogicalRoger.

You shouldn't because it's spam. If spamming was encouraged anyone could just post consecutive fifteen sentences and get a free boss clue for barely anything. Pretty unfair, don't you think?

I've seen plenty of players in Werewolf joke around and most of the time they are just joking. I'll grant you that a newer player might be less inclined. However, as I've already noted, Aced could be a boss pretending to rat to throw off suspicion or an employee who wrongly assumes he is rat. Either way, I still advise not to buy his act fully, just in case.i think that is too defensive (at least for me) and i got that feeling that you are the boss messing it up..
I react to posts because I like trying to work things out. I'm not really being defensive (until now, I guess ). Aced could easily be a rat who made a mistake, but assuming he is rat is also clearly flawed.

I can't buy this as a bluff from a first timer. This clears that aced is either boss or rat, more likely being the rat.

If we assume that Aced is the rat and that the boss may be amongst the majority, there are three employees voting for Whoviandeb. There are actually two voting for me which is a bit disconcerting but since there aren't three or more Whovian should still not be fired. Do be careful, though Wawa, as we don't want to put a potentially cleared player in a majority.
That being said, given that we have fifteen players, to get a full clear (in which any usual boss would be fired) I believe we should have a total of ten votes for Who (counting two extra for boss and rat and making the candidate get more than half of the votes).
At least I think. My calculations on voting have been wrong in the past. Still, as long as everyone is telling the truth and those idiotic unnamed votes aren't for me or for a single player who already has a vote, then Who can be cleared through the firings. That is, if we don't have many mandatories.

I don't even know what he means there. He doesn't say that he went to vote and couldn't but just that he remembered rats don't vote. It doesn't say much and could easily indicate an employee's mistake.

Oh, I apologize ... this IS my first game... I thought it showed votes like the werewolf game does, so I thought everyone could see. And I did read the rules, but reading the rules all day doesn't necessarily take the place of playing the game and putting the rules to use. Now even I can't see who I voted for, so ... I don't remember
For the benefit of the new players, and perhaps even some of the more experienced players:
The computer first calculates 50% of the actual number of votes cast to determine the threshold of votes required.
If the Boss receives the threshold number votes, the game ends - with the players voting for the Boss declared as winners.
If the Boss receives fewer than the threshold number of votes, the game continues.
The Boss is then presented with a list of people that can be fired, and the number of people that can be fired. This number depends on the number of players left in the game.
16-20 players left - 4 people can be fired
11-15 players left - 3 people can be fired
6-10 players left - 2 people can be fired
2-5 players left - 1 person can be fired
Any employee who does not vote is automatically on the list and cannot be taken off the list. If 6 employees don't vote, they will all be fired, even though the Boss is never able to choose to fire that many at once. If there is one employee on the "mandatory" list, and the Boss can fire up to 3 employees, then the Boss can select 2 more people from the optional list to fire. The Boss can choose not to fire anyone on the optional firing list. However, there is always someone on this optional firing list.
Players who vote for the Boss never appear on the optional firing list.
The computer determines who, other than the Boss, received the most votes. This person is called the candidate. In the event of a tie, there can be more than one candidate. Indeed, if everyone votes for someone different (we call this a Majority of One, or MoO vote) then everyone is a candidate - except for the Boss.
All employees who voted for the candidate(s) are placed on the voting list.
The Rat is placed on the optional firing list if he fails to hack the network, or if the Boss receives too many votes. The Rat is never on the mandatory list. (Also, if the Rat is fired, he drops to the bottom of the player list when the Boss submits his memo, whereas employees drop to the bottom of the list when the moderator accepts and publishes the memo.)
So...
In this case, there are 15 players in the game, but only 13 can vote. 50% of 13 votes is 6.5 votes. This means the threshold number of votes in this round is 7.
The largest number of stated votes was for whoviandeb, but there does not appear to be 7 votes cast. (It's hard to tell because of the people who did not state for whom they voted.) Indeed, since the Rat might claim to vote for the Boss, players would typically look for 8 stated votes to be sure of a "Rat-proof" majority. The vote does not have to be "Boss-proof". The majority is testing the hypothesis "whoviandeb is the Boss". Considering that someone else is the Boss at the same time is illogical.
Since the game is continuing, we do know that the Boss did not receive 7 votes. We will have to look at who gets fired to see what we can learn.

Personally, I am glad that a Rat-proof majority was not reached. I have seen too many games end too quickly because people made a lucky guess. I do not like to play that way.

The boss has got only 6 hours to submit his memo. I hope he/she does that quickly.
