The Daly City Book Group meets every Wednesday for lunch. One week, Paul, Kate, Mike, and Tina all sat at the same table and talked about their favorite book genres, favorite authors, and, of course, their favorite books (one of which was "To Kill a Mockingbird"). Interestingly enough, each person liked books and authors that didn't always match their favorite genre style. Can you determine from the clues below each person's reading preferences?
1. Kate enjoys Charles Dickens, but does not like reading biographies. Paul, on the other hand, prefers an American author.
2. "The Color Purple" fan has never read a romance novel, nor has he read anything by Ernest Hemingway.
3. During lunch, Mike sat between the biography fan and the person who likes science fiction. He noticed that the science fiction fan was holding a copy of her favorite book, "Little Women".
4. Although some of Shakespeare's plays could be considered romantic, the person who reads romance novels can't stand his writing!
5. The four people who shared a table were: Paul, the woman who loves John Steinbeck books, the mystery fan, and the person who reads "Lord of the Rings" every year.
