The above is a wrong statement. first, the word is spelled h-a-p-p-e-n-s-t-a-n-c-e. Second, the letter "h" is not used twice. Third, the word "immunofluorescence" is a longer word.
Let's see what the dictionary says about that:
hap·pen·chance [hápp'n chàns ] noun
See happenstance
[Mid-20th century. Alteration of happenstance.]
Therefore, the spelling is correct. I'm sure we could find words longer than "immunofluorescence" also. Look at the answer more carefully. "The 'longest word' in the English language 'where each letter' is used exactly twice."

Immunofluorescence doesn't use the letter f twice.
Well I looked up in the dictionary and there was no such word as 'happenchance'
Arij, it's in Merriam-Webster's online dictionary at www.m-w.com . Just because you can't find it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
good puzzle.
duece no matter what they say it is an excellent teaser
Another good language teaser. If you wanted to be picky you could leave out the "so". Things are either unique or they're not.
