Clever teaser, fun and enjoyable. Keep 'em coming.
that was cute. I thought i was the letter 'I' but i figured that was too obvious
HUH?? Oh well HAPPY BIRTHDAY
At first I also went for the letter i, then I got lost after that! Nice job!!
Again English was my major and it was very easy for me. Nice job tho. More please.
Really a good teaser. Grammar is one of last things most people would think about...unless it was your major or your job.
Nice! Who would have thunk it?
i thought it was "verb 1" (infinitive)
That's a really good one, except that they DO all have the letter "i" in common also, so that has to be considered a correct answer because; it is! But I didn't guess the other thing, but then I didn't know I had to. Maybe you could say, besides that they all have an "I". See, that's why I don't spend time on the daily teasers anymore, because they are almost never without some kind of flaw. But thanks for creating it!
Good teaser. It took a lot of thought to come up with this one.
I got them both right!! Yay! Great teaser!
all i thought it was was that they all had the letter i in it, but I wasn't sure... but great teaser

I got it right! Hurray! Great teaser.
Other things in common could be that they are all verbs. And I thought with the rhyming thing going, they could be last words to a poem.
Not too tricky, I liked it. Thx!!!
But Shawneeo and others - The hint TOLD us: "It's more than 'they all contain the letter i' ", so we needed to think beyond that. This is GOOD exercise for the brain, which is part of the purpose of BRAINGLE, right?!?!
Good teaser, and it's going into my Favorites!

Easy but fun.
Good job Kiss!! I SHOULD have gotten it, but I didn't!! This former "english major's" brain has a major OXIDATION problem these days!!
if you were to put an a onto the word stink it would no longer be a word. stank isnt a word in the vocabulary. so in order to make stink past tense, youd have to change the i to a u . STUNK!! see.
That was too muc for me
Nice teaser!
Alicia, you may want to check out Dictionary.com and look up the word stank.

FUN Clever BUT not quite correct with some of the words!!!!!
that stunk!
I am on spring break and i don't want to learn anything during this time. However, I liked the teaser!
I got the i to a part... just didnt really pay attention to the past participle (holy polka dots I probably just butchered that word)... great teaser!

I didnt go on the computer to be in school, this is my day off!! JK, that was pretty easy
I thought it was the letter i followed by a nasal consonant; I didn't think far enough, but to be English-teacherly, the question should have specifically ruled out the fact that they all contain the letter i & that the letter i is followed by a nasal.
Yes, as iteach pointed out, in the HINT it says its not the letter 'I" that they all have common. But NOT EVERYBODY LOOKS AT THE HINT! And, since that was an integral part of the teaser, it shouldn't have been the hint, it should've been in the body. The hint should only have something that won't affect the answer if you don't read it!
I hear ya, Shawneeo.
I guess it's all in what you expect a hint should do. I always think that a hint is supposed to bring you one step closer to the answer if you couldn't figure it out without it. Like I sometimes can't.

I was thinking they rhymed? Oh well it was fun .
Here's a hint- always check the hint. But today's hint was such an obvious option, it should have been ruled out in the main question, and a real hint put in its place.

They all have "in"! That's a valid answer!!
"swim" does not contain "in"
