Swaff and his older brother Abjar were once again talking to each other. This time, it was about their toast topping preferences. Abjar decided to play a little joke on Swaff.
He told him this story:
"When I was a young lad, back in the good ole year of 1902, my best friend, Geoff, and I would get into many crazy competitions. This one time, we decided to see who could get the bread to pop out of the toaster the farthest. I won with an amazing 19 inches."
Swaff was amazed. He never knew his brother was that cool.
Later on in life, Abjar revealed that this was a lie. How could Swaff have caught the lie?

Answer
Since Charles Strite invented the modern pop-up toaster in 1919, there was no way that Abjar and Geoff could have had a competition 17 years prior to its invention. Back then, the toasters were completely manual. You had to take the bread out, and flip it around to toast both sides. If Swaff would have caught this simple fact, he would have not had to go through such embarrassment.Hide Answer Show Answer
