Very highly imaginative teaser! When you work crossword puzzles and anacrostics, these come easy. But, I enjoy the tease of getting the correct letters, anyway! Keep up the magnificent work!
Thanks For sharing, Enjoyed this one.
Thanks again guys
I love this teaser! it's really fun, and it really made me think for a minute. Thanks!
i really liked it. easy, but fun.
good one easy,but fun. THX.

THIS IS NOT UP TO YOUR PREVIOUS STANDARD.
THESE WERE "VERY WEAK," WAY TOO EASY!

We've had this discussion before, a mix of difficult and easy is a good thing.
Fantastic teaser! A nice mix of easy and not so easy!
That was great jazz! Keep them coming.
Pity about IMURRAY's innane comments.

Thanks guys for the lovely comments.
IMURRAY: To answer your question, nothing happened!
I like to vary my teasers so they sort ALL ages who come to Braingle. Just because it didn't suit you, there is no need to be offensive with your comments. I can see why your Karma points are negative.

I like the variety... It's nice to not have to think so hard ALL the time.
Good job!
Good job!
Good teaser!! I got all but number two. Not too bad.
So can anyone tell me what are Karma points? Does everyone that joins this get Karma points? Just wondering.

Liked it. Two options for the first word "PERFUSE" and "SERGE"
"PERFUME" and "MERGE" nice job
"PERFUME" and "MERGE" nice job
Got all but #4.

I liked this one a lot better than the last couple of ones like this one. Having only two letters to find made it alot more easier to figure out. Thanks!!
Great one for the kids! Thanks for submitting, Jazz.
like Craniac, I got all but #4 good teaser! the language teasers are my favorites! Thanks!
I really liked this
It was nice not to think so HARD
It's nice to have and easier teaser in there sometimes, I thought it was great

I didn't think this was too easy. You really had to think about it, as the possibilities were endless in some cases. Unless you hit on the right answer right away, it took some thinking. Good teaser in my opinion.
C'mon Jazzman get out of the fifth grade ,this is not usually visited by grade school children.
Yep, Doehead...I can see why you chose that nickname...well said! What other pearls of wisdom can you share?
By the way, where do you get your inside information on who visits this website? I'd love to know!

Why can't number 4 be stain and insure? There are too many possibilities on some of them.
Thanks Enjaytee for your feedback, but your answer for #4 is wrong.
The reason why your answer is wrong is because you did not read the question properly.
staIN is fine as you suggest, but INsure is wrong. My question asked for --STURE, not 'SURE' as you have written. There is no such word as INsture.
(Hmmm...not as easy as some might think!)

Ty for todays puzz. Not all of us are eggheads! I enjoy it when I can solve some of them easily or otherwise...Good job jazz keep `em coming,, oh and Lmurray & doehead... go boil your heads for posterity....
maybe your brains can benefit a future generation LOL
insure - to take out or issue insurance (Webster's Dictionary
inSture is the word in dispute willa
Jazz, good one. Ignore the negative comments. You can please some of the people some of the time....etc. (I got stuck on Barb and Stage)
4 COULD ALSO BE STATE AND TESTURE
testure was a single put out by skinny puppy in 1989.

This was tons of fun
Easy but very fun!
Jazzy- you're being too sensitive! IMURRAY's comment wasn't horrible. He was just stating it was much easier than other teasers you've done. He's entitled to polite opinion.
On the other hand, doehead's comment was rather grade-schoolish, wasn't it?!!
I enjoyed this teaser much more than some of yours that required a degree in music history. Thanks for another good one!

Kasie, I don't think being a song title makes something a word!
I also thought perfuse and serge, but perfume and merge is a much better answer!!
Also missed stage and gesture--couldn't get passed 'pasture'!!
The other 4 I got easily. Thx for submitting, Jazz. This was a well-done and very fun teaser. (ignore the naysayers)

So sorry! Now I see how easily that can happen--hitting the comment button twice!
I enjoyed it. I don't care what the nay-sayers think!
I liked that one! It's fun to have some that don't completely make me rack my brain early in the morning
Give 'em heck Jazz! It was easy but fun! And a lot of times my kids are looking over my shoulder trying to solve teasers right along with me (for those who think kids don't try these!)
I enjoyed this one! I couldn't get the second one. I kept trying to think of a second syllable to add to "barb."If I had focused on the second word instead, I probably could have come up with "editor." Just didn't try long enough, I guess. I don't know why anyone would think that a 5th grader would not visit this site. As an elementary teacher of many years, I can tell you that 5th (and below) graders do have brains and most of them use them quite well. How long has it been since you were in grade school, doehead? In fact, I have used some of these teasers with third graders. But that doesn't mean they are too easy. I think as adults we need to keep reveiwing words and math to keep our brains sharp.
Hear Hear!!!
STAVE and VESTURE also work for number 4. Good job, jazzguy!
Loved it, much better with just 2 letters. lmurray's an a**.
Good one, Jazz. I enjoyed it, and found it easy enough to get without giving myself a headache. I use some of the teasers with the kids I tutor and grades don't matter. 3rd @ 4th graders are old enough to start thinking outside the school books. Keep up the good work.
easy and fun. thanks, jazz
it's a shame people get so upset over posts sometimes-
it usually leads to name-calling... just like gradeschool, don't you think?

on number 4 VE would also work Stave and vesture. Keep em coming!
ViaTunisi, I agree with you completely. That is why I felt it was necessary to address doehead's comments. If you thought I was namecalling--I would never do that. I was using the name he gives himself(scroll up to see). Maybe you weren't referring to me, but just in case, I wanted to clear that up.
I enjoyed this! 'Twas fun
Remember Guys! (I use the term guys, but I am referring to both sexes, ages, and/or school backgrounds.) Keep a cool head! This is only a comment section! Lmurray and others have the right to comment, no matter what!....LOL It is just hard for them to give out Positive energy to someone else. So, they will always run down someone else's efforts. Jazzy knows this....lol
My o My, such controversy!! My only question is "is there a Missing Letters 11" yet? I see we had a 9 and 10 recently, then went to 1. I even went back 400 teasers to see if I could find 2 thru 8. (way too much time on my hands ) I love them! Thanks, Jazz
Well, well, well....such controversy over a simple little teaser
It's really gratifying to read so many positive comments. Thanks to those who came up with some other possible answers (that were right).
I suppose with our language there can be so many different possible combinations.
Jabr: I've kind of lost track with some of the numbers - a couple have been rejected and others have been published out of sync. I'll do a couple more soon though.

Please enlighten me, folks; what does vesture mean?
A vesture is a covering garment such as a robe or vestment. An example would be the robe a priest or pastor wears at a religious service.
i know a guy named vesture also
Wordmamma: vesture means:
1. Law. a. everything growing on and covering the land, with the exception of trees.
b. any such covering, as grass or wheat.
2. Archaic. a. clothing; garments.
b. something that covers like a garment; covering.
–verb (used with object)
3. Archaic. to clothe or cover.
I hope this helps

I found this fun, and I couldn't get #4. Oh well!
Shame the comments aren't as much fun as they sometimes are. I hate to be an example of what I don't like, but it kinda gets tiresome to read people commenting on other people's comments. *sigh*

i forgot wat i was goin to say lol
Great teaser!
Great teaser! A bit easy, but very enjoyable. A relaxing teaser, I guess you could say.
A little too easy.
funny teaser - got all but 3rd one =)
Nice and easy!
Fun! Thanks for posting!
As a child this was a good one, but a little weak for adults.
So refreshing to get Each of them right! Just enough stretch for me this morning-thanks!
Wow, that was easy ... Great teaser; I love easy ones
Easy one but enjoyable. Either I'm just smart today or they're easy ones. I don't do well on teasers. Thanks for posting.
I was going to voice my opinion on a couple of things, but thought again and told my self, "nobody comes back to read the comments after they have spouted out so what is then use." Only one or two nice people comment after me. Where is everyone? See I am talking to myself again, but this is fun anyway. Maybe the 3 of us can talk some of our friends to join Braingle. You think??
I got 5/6 couldn't seem to find an answer to #4. But still fun,
@Babe I'm listening Friends and family ask what I do most in the internet, when I tell them they look at me like I'm strange. The second thing they ask me is "do I get on Facebook?". Rarely, not interested. Braingle is my little bit of entertainment.
Babe-The reason people don't comment anymore is there are no new people getting on the site, and the old viewers see nothing but old repeated teasers. So if there is anyone to blame, it is the people that run the site.
Nice teaser jazz
I couldn't get #4 either, which when you see the answer looks so obvious! Fun Thanks for posting!
I couldn't get 4 either. Yes there are fewer and fewer comments these days. It's fun to look at some of the old comments and see that the commentors haven't been on for over 3000 days.
Nice n ezy, fun, teaser, thanks Jazz!
The fourth one was the hardest. I kept going to "posture" for the second word.
Fun, easy and entertaining teaser. I got all of the words very quickly but still enjoyed the challenge.
