Brain Teasers
Mysterious Thief
Situation
Situation puzzles (sometimes called lateral thinking puzzles) are ones where you need to ask lots of yes or no questions to figure out what happened in the situation. These are good puzzles for groups where one person knows the puzzle and answers the questions.Situation
I watched as he stole it. He wasn't even sneaky about it. I think he might have forgotten it or something, because he fled the scene without it. Some seemed to support the "crime", and some did not. Nonetheless, he went home without being arrested.
Who is this mysterious man?
Who is this mysterious man?
Hint
The "jury" isn't an actual jury. ;)Answer
The man is a base runner on a team in a baseball game.He stole a base, then ran to the next base without taking the base with him, of course. Half of the crowd was cheering (in this case, supporting) because they are on the team of the base runner. The opposing team's fans are not supportive of the steal. The man went HOME (to HOME plate) without being arrested, of course.

smarty pants - but i am english, so i think baseball is a load of rubbish!
Baseball is not rubbish
You have to understand or like baseball in order to get that one. Good one,
i understand it, but i'm not a baseball fan. basketball is WAY better! lol good teaser
Nice, but it really ought to be in Trick,
not Logic.
not Logic.
very good teaser. It goes to show how just a simple play on the multiple meanings of a word like "steal" can be made into a perfectly good teaser. BTW if you dont know anything about baseball well thats just tough. Part of what it takes to be a good puzzle solver is like good trivia players: general knowledge of a large variety of topics.

Pretty Good. I knew it though since I have read so many jokes like that. but good one!
i see that word crime has been placed in quotes.
The hint doesn't make sense.
Couldn't he also steal the show?
Yes, I know that the hint did not make sense, and yes, I am aware that "crime" was placed in quotes xD ... the original teaser was slightly different, and whoever edited the teaser changed those things and didnt change the hint ... lol =) Glad you enjoyed it. ^^;
huh? i have not one idea what the whole thing is all about. could anyone give a better explanation than that. what does stealing a base mean? and all that kind of stuff. why don't you EVER give more explanation to it. It's so, so confusing.

I heard something like this in third grade....
This one is fun! I love baseball!
Very clever!
dewtell, it's not in logic, it's in situation. "username," In baseball if lets say you are on 1st base and another person on your team is hitting, that person strikes. Even though he didn't hit the ball you can still risk it and try to run to 2nd place before they pitch again. That is termed as stealing a base. I hope that helped some.
