Brain Teasers
What's After 10626?
What is the next number in the following series?
123, 354, 897, 1875, 10626, ?
123, 354, 897, 1875, 10626, ?
Answer
The next number in the series is 16887. Take the first number and move the number in the unit's place to the ten's, the number in the ten's place to the hundred's and the number in hundred's place to the unit's place.Example: 123 becomes 231
and
354 becomes 543.
Add the original number with the number obtained from shuffling the digits to get the next number in the series.

Hello there, how did you like my first series teaser?
i never woulda thought of that!!!
I though it was simple.
Nice! Different from the usual fare of series teasers!
Thank You very much for your comment Brainster.
easy but cute
weird process to get to achieve the progression but still pretty easy. Hardest part was believing that was all there was to it

There is more than one pattern/answer on this one. You can also take away the numbers left of the 2nd to last number and place those numbers at the end and add to the previous. Thus my answer is 36732
TOO EARLY... NEED MORE COFFEE!!!
Very easy but entertaining.
But I need to point out that actually, if you follow the instructions in the answer exactly, the conversion of the 4th number in the series would be 1758, making the 5th number 3633. Its conversion would be 3336, which would make the final number 6969.
The first line of the instructions in the answer should read, "The next number in the series is 16887. Take the first number and move that number to the units place, then shift all other numbers left accordingly." You might want to show how this works with the number 1875 in your example to avoid confusion.

I did it by adding 1st 2 digits to get the first digit in the next number; the 2nd 2 digits for the 2nd, etc... until the last with the first to get the final digit. If the sum of a pair is > 10, add the '1' to the earlier digit!
I think people who say this is 'easy' were probably lucky stumbling onto the method quickly ... or they've done similar. Took me a few minutes of perseverance - it was 'fun' enough to keep going. Thanks.

Can't believe I got it so quickly and eassily, my math puzzle skills are so old and lame. Thanks for a fun puzzle.
@dalfamnest
I tried your method too, but it breaks when you try to get from 897 to 1875 and 1875 to 10626.

I was afraid that the characters would not line up properly. But the 9 should have been over the 1 in 15. the 12 should have started under the 5 in 15. the six should have been to the right of the 12. Padding with zeros it should look more like.
