Good news and bad news. And some shred of hope.
The good: the mission was a SUCCESS
The bad: Someone slit the throat of Commander Kajish in his sleep (the SEER is dead)
The shred of hope: With two more successful missions, I will notify the Resistance of a shortlist with a spy on it.
TEAM SELECTION
Approve/Reject these teams picked by Captains HABS and Jessey.
Team 1 - Les Canadiens Crusaders
LEADER: HABS
Spider
Evita
Jayo
DebC
Team 2 - The Bruvvy Berets
LEADER: Jessey
HABS
Evita
Spider
Catmandon

what are the odds of this being the beginning of a new "seer always dies first round" streak?
It's when you draw it you realize what it really looks like

Without a seer, we shall have to rely on our wits. Now if only I had some... I'm sure I did at one point... hmm.
Dem early seer deaths.....
will read the first round again though doubt anything interesting will come of it...probly wont post till tmrw

I almost forgot to log in, then remembered I need to devote myself to a game. Been a long time since I was involved in something like this.
Is there any incentive now for the humans to be successful in missions, besides of course to stop the wolves from getting a talkbox to themselves?
I think a good tactic would be to try send an entirely new group (as much as we can) on the second mission, as it will give us an indication of potential wolves from a new group of people. Then if it succeeds or fails, we can get information on who may have failed it from the new source of people.
Unfortunately, the two captains chose teams who are very similar to the group that was in the first mission. The people who went on the first mission were: mnkgyl, Jess-ey, Jayo, HABS2933, debc1, and Evita. The only person who was not on the first mission in the first group is Spider, however there are two people in the second group, Spider and catmandon, who were not on the first mission.
Therefore, I Reject group 1, and Approve group 2. I think my strategy makes sense, but my head is a little fuzzy, and it is evening here in Australia and I have had a very busy week at work, so I will revisit this in the morning to go over it and see if it makes sense.
No need for me to place a protective vote at the moment, so I will gold off for now.
Editing to add - excuse my old brain, I just checked and I saw that HarryPutter posted a shred of hope, which answers my question about whether or not we have an incentive to be successful in missions ago. Apologies - Pete.

May have been stated havent done anything but glance the new posts, but the only variables are
Jess/Cat from team 2
or
Jayo/Deb from team 1
seeing how they were both on the Team that pushed through a success in Round 1, it makes sense to me to
Approve
Reject
As I thought, nothing of major interest in Round 1...I do have a kernel of a suspicion on someone, but its vague enough that I want to get more untainted data by not tipping my hand just yet

Approve

First off although we don't have too much intel at this stage, voting for someone who was part of the successful mission is not such a great step at this point in the game - even if it ultimately turns out that there was a Wolf who refused to sabotage the mission
With the Seer gone, I don't think the next mission will be sabotaged if there is a wolf on board.
HP - Can you repost the teams from round one in the RFM of round 1?
I think it might prove useful in future rounds to have a record of peoples approve/reject choices - esp with the Seer MIA

I am not sure about the approves and rejects as I didn't play the first game
and I don't know how captains came about who chose them and they picked their team?
why is there only 2 teams now? next round will there only be one?
if you approve you don't think a wolf is in the group? and the same as reject. you think a wolf is in that group??
for now I will go with everyone and approve reject

Jayo: Sorry, ill keep the record open now. I just wanted to clean up round 1 because a lot of people were new to the format, and I didn't want to over burden the first post with a lot of details.
Deb: from now on, I will PM players at random and ask them to pick the teams since it adds more strategy/information to consider. I started the game with 3 teams so everyone could be listed at least once. From now on, I will post two teams at a time. The only # that will decrease as the rounds go on is the players per team.
Last time I posted all the rules at once and a lot of people got confused I figured people would catch on much more easily if it's introduced when necessary. It's a lot simpler than the details make it seem, that's why. The main purpose is to give the players more things to discuss and more info to work with, since that's usually the downfall of wwgs.

Essentially Deb, you are essenitally voting to approve the group that gives the humans the biggest advantage. Usually that is the team that you think is least likely to have a wolf in it, but there are special circumstances where maybe thats not the case....but thats the basics yup

Generally, a Resistance (human) wants to approve teams with the people they trust to succeed missions (other humans). They'll want to avoid approving groups that have Spies (wolves) since Spies can sabotage missions.
Spies obviously want the opposite, but they can bluff or use different strategies to make it seem like they're Resistance. It just gives more info, more ways to accuse others/defend yourself.

This whole the seer being eaten early streak needs to not
Holding off my vote given there's nothing to protect. Seems team 1 is going to be the chosen group, but I'll still approve team 2.

Not much else to go on.. The missions kind of side track from regular voting.

Im gonna go ahead and just follow my hunch with a Dr Hoo vote, very weak conviction behind it but its my only thought. Reading round 1 again there is even less reason behind this now than I had on first impression, but I'm weary of players who either bring up side issues / sidetrack, or are a little too playful (its kind of a subtle ingratiation move) Not saying Hoo really did much of either on reread but his comments to Whovian lightly come off this way.
I guess my summary is, Im voting Hoo on very thin premise

Your comments to whovian could be classified as low grade playful....it seems there is some familiarity so its less of an issue than i could take it.
Im not saying i have any confidence in this read at all, I really dont, but i have to do something, probably will change I can tell u that, but for now Im sticking to it.
Sometimes this tell really is obvious...like when I get a red alert from this tell it is probably the most accurate, your more like a very light yellow alert
I know this cause in my early wolf games I would do it, and in my later games I had to 'check' myself when I could feel myself about to do it.
Anyway..just sticking still for now

Hoo very well could be a wolf and I approve of taking him down if you've got a strong feeling. But our banter is due more to the fact that we know each other outside of braingle. But anything that happens on braingle stays on braingle and is not discussed elsewhere.
The two votes on Jayo - now, Jayo, if you were doing it, you'd say you were just stirring things up.

Well that could easily explain it, thanks
I know I'm becoming an annoying broken record, but some of u ppl really need to learn how to take the initiative in these games, for as much of the 'it's just a game ' mantra gets used (rightly) we act like the bullets are real. Just take a stab at something.
I agree regarding jayo, but he does have a good point, we probably shouldn't be voting for someone on a success team and potentially a 2nd

Jayo, why would he need to protect me? I have one vote on me and it is mainly a placement vote.
And yes spid I agree that I haven't put much in (Assuming that post was directed to me). I just didn't have much to say at that point but I will try to be more involved once the mission is successful or failed depending what will happen. I think that will help us more since we lost our seer.
I will just place a random vote for now but am a little suspicious of jayo for saying what I mentioned at the beginning of this post.

Doesn't matter at this point, the gap between team 1 and team 2 is too great for the remaining votes to overcome.

Not just at you slamm, many others actually, but u in the list haha. Those voting Jayo who also voted to Approve team 1 are being inconsistent at the very least. Only 'meat' on Jayo might be the Kajish eating.....seems like a typical 'get rid of the inactives' eatings popular among the more experienced, fair-game minded players. Unless just a random hodge podge of eating choices, there doesnt seem to be any particularly strong reason for kaj to have been eaten.
