Safety for now on Bobbi.
Looks like the only firings were mandatory fires since ghost and jpost didn't post in the last round. Also, memo kind of confirms that.
SMILE and people will wonder what you are up to!

Voting for Habs. I can imagine her saying "brain freeze".
Voting for bb, because the memo sounds a bit like her.
fear my cuteness.
fear my cuteness.
I will keep my safety vote on wawa for now.
I have some ice cream business in my family... the brain freeze occurs when you allow the ice cream to hit the roof of your mouth (the palate) for any prolonged period, especially when your mouth was warm beforehand. Sudden change in temps is not good. Eating ice cream quickly can easily cause this. If it occurs, use your tongue to warm up the roof of your mouth as quickly as you can. yes, it is painful.
We don't call it a brain freeze in our family, its an ice cream freeze!
Edit... vote confirmed
Second edit... for no reason than to say I may not be back until near the end of the round. I have an early call to take care of and another project to shift to right after that. Probably will be really close (if at all) to the end of the round before I can return. Maybe someone else will create a voting list... it does help to see who. if any, are in majorities.
thanks.... sorry Snowy, this is just a little RL situation I have to take care of.

I'll be honest and say that I love ice cream - I'm not into chocolate though. I do like vanilla, pralines 'n cream, banana nut, and green tea ice cream. And yeah, I've had brain freeze, but not very often. If you eat it slowly enough, you don't get it. I tend to get it more often from popsicle type treats, because you have to eat those faster or else they melt all over your hand.
Vote for HABS for now.
It's a disease, not a punch line

I haven't had brain freeze in a long time. And I habitually chew on ice. Green tea ice cream is good, but I recently've had a combination of green tea and red bean and now that is just great. I don't often eat too much ice cream but at 5% of fat per bar, this kind's an affordable treat.
There's a current majority on Habs, but I'll throw out a vote for MDC because I could see him writing the memo. I'll have to see what changes when I next get on.
Why didn't the Libertarian cross the road?

Green tea ice cream? Red bean? Where do you get this stuff? Never heard of these flavors.

I don't eat a lot oc ice crean as most of the stuff you can buy at the grocery store s of low quality. There is a plce here in town called "London Ice Cream. Co.". The store itself is not big enough for more than about 5 people to be in getting their cones. There is no inside seating but they have a lot of picnic tables outside. In the summer people are often lined jp out the door. Sven in the middle of winter you are never the only person in there.
There is a large production plant attached to the retail side where they make the ice cream on site.
They sell everything from 500ml cartons to the large commercial sized tubs that other ice cream parlors use.
They have some cool flavours that you don't find many places such as Caribou Crunxh and Moose Tracks (which is my fav).
Geez...now I want to go get some I e cream!
Safety vote for SHADOWS
BTW, I'm not the boss, I don't watch TV and while I like ice cream,.. I prefer Gelato and since no one would have known that, that would have been my comment.
That being said, PLEASE DO VOTE FOR ME as we need a clear.
Not sure when I will be back, the kids are on March Break and we are going to a reptile show. It should be fun. The younger one wants to hold a snake, the older one iz not too sure.
Maybe the dog only brings the ball back because he thinks you like throwing it.

I love ice cream, but don't ever remember having a brain freeze. In fact I never realized it was a "real" condition. Store bought ice cream is just fine with me, too.

Random for Bobbi a I don't have a clue as to who it might be yet.
I am sure all of us had that brain freeze at one point or another. Unless of course you are lactose intolerant .

We made home made ice cream not too long ago, and home made frosty's (just like you get from Wendy's) a couple nights ago in the ice cream maker. Home made ice cream is ok, but it's too rich - we gotta stop using heavy cream. I think it would turn out just fine with using half n half.

I've gotten brain freeze several times while drinking Slurpees. Ice cream, not so much. While I do like green tea and red bean and whatnot, my favourite flavour will always be chocolate.
Keeping my vote on habs; gotta clear people.

Hey, I'm back. The girls had a great time at the Reptile Show and Rory who is terrified of everything not only touched the croc, but a 20+ foot long constrictor. Her younger sister (4) jumped at the chance to be able to hold the scorpion - I would never do that!
I am unable to post a voting list with the tab, so if someone else could do one please do.
Snowy, you could make "Ice Milk" instead of Ice Cream - DQ has been doing it for years.
OR there is a thing called "smpw cream" that is pretty good.
Maybe the dog only brings the ball back because he thinks you like throwing it.

My brother even got corn-flavored ice cream. It's okay, actually. Basically vanilla with corn chunks. Weird idea, though. I've never made my own ice cream but it might be nice. I guess, theoretically, you can make a ton of flavours that way. Never had a gelato, either. Sounds kind of interesting, though.
Sounds cool about the reptiles, Habs. I probably couldn't touch a scorpion or a snake. I guess I prefer mammals.

Why didn't the Libertarian cross the road?
Though it is not 'the' majority vote, I would prefer this round not to be in a mini majority vote, so I will change my vote to LogicalRoger.
I only eat a couple flavors of ice cream normally. Love my Vanilla, english toffee, cookies and cream, or chocolate chip... normally. However, I also love it when the family store makes Guiness Stout Beer Ice Cream. Normally only made around this time of the year. They won't let me come down and try the Stout beer before it is put in the ice cream though... shucks.
Edit - vote change confirmed. and Logical... your list is just beautiful!

Lol LR, I had no interest in having on my hand either. Violet was volunteering constantly to go up on stage to get to hold them. I sent my husband some pics and teased him that he wouldn't go near any of these animals but Violet had no fear at all, that he was a bigger wuss tHan a 4 year old girl. Lol
The zookeeper guy said he has been stung a few times and that there is less venom in a scorpion sting than a bee sting.
It was really fun, and I think they learned something, and entrance was reasonable .

I probably wouldn't jump at the chance to touch a scorpion... but the snake sounds super cool!

I did a little research and sort of was educated by doing it.
I wondered if it is possible that the stingers could be removed from Scorpions for the shows... making the scorpions "safe".
Yes it is possible... though the scorpion would look different. Most of the people on this subject totally objected to this act to safe guard the scorpion. If they do not sense fear, they have no reason to strike. I guess I am a bit concerned about this, because having a lot of screaming kids running around me might make me want to strike out at one of them... ok, as my doctor says, this is not about me!
However, there were a lot of folks that said that most scorpions seldom use their stingers, and if they do, normally only leave a red spot. Not quite like the movies where you get bit, you die suddenly of a violent death.
Has the movie industry again sort of extended a myth to scare people?
I also read another post where someone said that animals - especially a scorpion, does not feel pain... pain is only felt by humans.
Have you ever stepped on a dog's tail and heard the dog yelp? No one will tell me that animals, of all kind, do not feel pain. The key is to what degree and where are their pain levels lay? I see dogs and cats with their tails cut off... no way, no how will I ever do that; but we have considered having our cat's front paws de-clawed. Luckily, our cat has turned over a new leaf and is becoming loving and friendly with not only us, but our dog. Ok, another story.
It is late, but I wanted to comment that holding a 'strange" insect, animal or otherwise would be fun... but as humans we need to know these creatures have limitations to how much we handle them without them having aggressive feelings.

Yeah, de-clawed or not, Hollywood's trained me well. I'd kinda prefer to just look at them. Although if there was a safe tactile substitute then I could see the advantage of it.
Why didn't the Libertarian cross the road?
Both green tea and red bean are flavors I tried first at Japanese restaurants. I prefer the green tea - I even like the Starbucks green tea frapps.
I remember going to a Japanese restaurant for the first time and seeing a friend trying to give her children some green tea ice cream flavours. They wouldn't eat it. I was shocked because, unusual flavour or not, they're good. I like red bean better, but I'm more used to it in sweets than green tea.
Why didn't the Libertarian cross the road?
Green tea ice cream looks kind of... gross. Like how pistachio ice cream looks gross. There's just something about green ice cream that seems wrong. Tastes good though.
Screaming kids? Not here there weren't. Even the kids wandering around and looking at the other animals were well behaved. The kids sitting watching the show were watching in total silence. There was an area they had like outdoor carpeting on and it was held down with wide black tape. The kids were told they could not cross over the tape unless they were called up on stage. Even when he was looking for volunteers, they just raised their hands, no yelling or screaming. I have never seen 200 kids that quiet. Hell, I've never seen 20 kids that quiet.
I have always had my cats declawed, though from what I have been seeing online, a lot of vets are now refusing to do it. I don't think my cats have have suffered any ill effects and my furniture still looks new, unlike a friend's whose has been destroyed.
My sister has dobermans and has had both the tail and the ears done, I don't know if I'd do that. The only reason anyone does it is it makes them look mean. I don't think many would be afraid of them with their long tail and flopped over ears.
I don't see these surgery's as cruel though, look at it as "cosmetic surgery" for your pet. It is not like they are not sedated when it is done.
Maybe the dog only brings the ball back because he thinks you like throwing it.

She's a doll! She will probably remember this forever and if she had any fears about the animals/creatures before she saw them, she may find them more enjoyable to see in the future.
We took our kids to a local marine park and they could pet the stingrays. My son was about your daughters age and he is now 32. He still talks about it and even recently mentioned that his son, who is about 20 months old, will be going to the same park this summer.

This is the younger child, she has no fear of anything. Her older sister is much more timid, seeing her younger sister do it gave her the courage to do it too (the snake, not the scorpion). Once she saw the crocodile up close in the show and realised its mouth was banded shut, she asked if she could go up and pet it. I was impressed because she is normally scared.
I know what you mean about certain memories sticking with them, I pretty much raised my sister's boy (who are 26, 19, 18.and 17 now) during their early years. Took the two middle ones to FL when the older one was about 2 and the younger was about 9 months old. I took the one on a helicopter and he he freaked out when we put the headset on him, he was fine when I took it off him and was fascinated the entire ride. He still remembers it and before he decided on IT technology and Game design, was considering bbecoming an aero-engineer and going to school through a program in which you enlist then get a free ride through school. You go in as an officer and only owe 5 years. He wasn't able to do it because of an injury at birth that affected his right arm.
BTW- this isn't my daughter, this is one of the kids I babysit. Sine Rich and I have no kids and their mother is only 23 and gets little financial help from their father, she can't afford to take them to tthese things, so we do it for them. We don't feel they should have to miss out all the time and $100 to us is a lot less than it is to her.
