Great one! I love childrens books and remember them fondly...and even read them occasionally! I hadn't heard of "Summer of the Swans", tho. Learned something new!
No problem, glad you enjoyed it-- and learned something!
Great Teaser! Number 1 is sad at the end, but kind of happy.
Keep up the good work!

I know Saturn....but its a great book. I remember reading it in Fourth Grade, and it was one of those books that the teacher read to us. She would read a chapter a day. At the end the whole class was crying, and the teacher too. It is a neat memory.
Thanks for the nice comments!

Same here, my teacher read it to us in 3rd grade and at the end we had to go get a box tissue for everyone.
First one to comment on TOTD! Congratulations! And this was fun! I especially liked the 'feline in a bonnet'. Sounded very cute!

ONLY HEARD OF ONE ON THEM. I NEVER READ CHILDREN'S BOOKS.
Explains a lot. I had to used the OED for the swan, all good choices. Good teaser.

You have junior high titles mixed in with children's titles. I only got 2.
Loved it!. The g.kids and I spend quite a bit of time at the local library and I have read a couple of these to them. In fact I have three in my home that I thought would be good for those who could read for themselves. Great teaser.
P.S. Happy Bunny Trails to all, or maybe I should say Buny Tails. Anyhow wishing all a good day today,
Way cool. Keep up the good work.
Not familiar with childrens' books, I got catinhat because of its popularity.
Thanks for all the comments....and I cannot believe I am the teaser of the day!!! What a very cool Easter present!!!
BTW, Happy Easter to all!!!
BTW, Happy Easter to all!!!
Not sure how you got Secret Garden out of obscure oasis, but otherwise it was good. Hoppy Easter everyone.
I desperately need grandchildren. I got 3 of them..2 of which were word association guesses, that turned out to be right, but felt completely stumped. Great job and great idea and subject!

Yayyyyyyyyyy! I got them all, too. It doesn't hurt that I have read them all to classes of mine. Many of them do require tissues. For those of you who haven't read Summer of the Swans, I highly recommend it.
In my opinion, kids' books are good for ALL ages.

Fun! It was easy, only because I knew all of the books you referred to.
Still a good teaser. Last Easter was a year ago today, imagine that,
reruns, reruns, reruns, is all we get. get a life.
I never read any of these books to my kids, way back when they were young. Our taste ran to sci-fi and horror. Only kidding. I was only familiar with a few of these books, but some of them could almost be worked out even without knowing them. Keep up the good work, reruns are fine with me.
It was my first time seeing this one....I really liked it...Thanks!
Hmm... I thought the obscure oasis was hard even though I love The Secret Garden.
lol i got 4 and 5 right and i didn't know the rest. good one anyway
"Obscure Oasis" could also be "Paradise Lost" . . . at least I thought it could be. Ha ha.
I love these kinds of puzzles. Got it in under sixty seconds. Good one.

Great one!!
came close to wrinkle in time. but haven't heard of any of those titles. Guess children's books are not my forte
genie-ass

Got the ever popular "Cat in the Hat" ! That was it, not a category 4Me I guess. No Grandma! I did get a lot of the words tho so fun.
I got them all fairly quickly probably because at one time or another I've read them all. I think I even have a paperback copy of Summer of the Swans in a box of books from my childhood! Thanks for the reminder of some really good titles.
Very Good!
The only one I missed was the Secret Garden. I also thought Paradise Lost. The funny thing is my daughter and I just read Secret Garden.
I got all of them except for Summer of the Swands. Great job.
Being a Librarian; I really liked this teaser. It even made me chuckle a time or two. Good one!!
I like it
Very cute, got all but #3
Great teaser
Great teaser
I really liked this one, I missed Summer of the Swans and Secret Garden though.
I like this kind of teaser alot, keep 'em coming!

LOVED IT!!!!
Not familiar with childrens' lit, no 5 was a no-brainer, missed the rest.
That was an absolutley great quiz!!!!!!!!!!!! Loved it
Memory is a scary thing..I got 2 & then saw that I had commented on it last year and got 3!!! Not only didn't remember it as a 'rerun' but even got fewer correct. Hmmmm
Got all of them except for three... haven't even heard of three... >_
An oasis isn't really a garden.
This was a great teaser! Had to use hint #2, but it worked!
only got the last one
Would have got them all. I really think you should give us credit for Guessing Paradise Lost for Obscure oasis It was the plainest answer out there and we all know its not what you don't know , it's what you are sure you do know , that you are wrong about ,that is the scary thing.
That was fun! Enjoyed the literature references. I had never heard of "Summer of the Swans," but I got it. Thank you!
Cool teaser! I got all but the first one, which I hadn't heard of. I also hadn't heard of Summer of the Swan, but I think I've heard of Wrinkle in Time. I've read the other two. I liked how Obscure Oasis worked out to be Secret Garden, it made sense to me anyways!
Thank you for all the wonderful comments!
"Paradise Lost" is a good choice for "Obscure Oasis," only if you believe Milton's rather dense work is a children's book.
Another rerun.
Blah...
Easy but fun!
I only knew one of these books. My grandchildren are all grown. Myself, I hav e written 8 children's books in poetry form for family and friends. I hope to inspire some child the love of poetry that I have.
Only heard of 2 of these books but I got 4 correct answers. Guess I didn't read the popular stuff.
I guess yesterday was a mistake. We're back to old reruns.
Though I have not heard of "Summer of Swans" it was pretty obvious that is what you wanted. As for "Paradise Lost" being accepted for an answer - the only problem with that is the quiz is on CHILDREN'S literature, Paradise Lost is not a kids' book.
I agree with whomever said that these books can be enjoyed by anyone. "Kiddie Lit" was one of my favorite classes among all the Literature classes I took in University.. that and the classes on pre-1900s Literature. The old classics are much more enjoyable than an of today's popular fiction

I LOVE children's books but I missed a couple of these. Babe, I'm fascinated to hear you have written children's books. Your grandchildren are very fortunate to have you!
I loved this quiz. Secret Garden is one of my favorite books and movies. Thanks for posting!
To pick a nit, #3 should have been "The Sunny Season of the Cygni".
4/5; missed "Secret Garden" - never heard of that book. Happy Easter to all my fellow Brainglers!
Sorry, but I have some issues with #2.
Firstly, the correct tile is: 'THE Secret Garden', and an oasis is not a garden according to many dictionaries?
I'm afraid those errors, spoilt the exercise 4 me!
