Really good one, didn't get #2 though. Oh well next time
I literaly love this one. How could i not love a teaser with Coldplay, Rolling Stones and Guns 'n' Roses in it?
absolutly love this
I've never heard of any of the songs!
Super oober fun!!!!!!!! This was
one of those times where it pays to be a geezer!! (a cool geezer, though )

Thanks for the humming songs in my head! I loved the teaser.
Happy Birthday
Happy Birthday
I hadn't heard of a lot of those songs. Good job, though!!!
Ah...I don't know those songs, so I didn't get any of them! I managed to guess a few artists though. It was cool anyway.
I really liked this one, got all of the artists, but guessed at the name of Coldplay's song. very cool!
WEAK, AND VERY DATED. NOT ANYWHERE UP TO YOUR STANDARDS.
DIDN'T TEASE MY BRAIN!
DIDN'T TEASE MY BRAIN!
"Don't Stand So Close To Me" was by The Police, not Sting
Good teaser! I got all but the 2nd one! Now i will be singing these songs all day! Not a bad thing, since I like them all!
yuch! If you are going to do songs do a range of eras at least - so that everyone can have a chance at one
Well, it was well done..I just don't know those artists or songs. (Gun and Roses was too good a description for even me not to get that one). A+ for the cleverness.
After I got #4, the rest just fell into place. Then again, I knew the music...
Don't Stand So Close to Me was done by the Police, not Sting as a solo artist. As if this wasn't lame enough to begin with.
There was only one thing I liked better then your cool entry and that was some of the replies you received from some of the obviously young audience who just wanted to trash it because they didn't know the artist or song!! Sorry about that! But, I'm sure you will get over it.
the rolling stones? who are they?
Very clever, although I'm way too uncool to have gotten them all.
Not bad. I ALMOST got the first one...I didn't catch the 'don't'
Uggghhh.... Not only am I way uncool.... but a REAL geezer!! Only song I got was Brown Sugar!!
Enjoyed it though!
Enjoyed it though!
I really liked it - this is my first day on this site! I liked the Guns & Roses one cuz I got that! Great job
Nov 15, 2005
It was cute and I was able to get most of them. But, just so you know, brown sugar is not a unbleached natural sweetener. Brown sugar is regular white sugar that has had molasses added to it.
I got them all. I don't know if I should feel "old" or justify my knowledge of these based on the fact that I have excellent taste in music.
Oh, by the way, Don't Stand So Close To Me was released by The Police in 1980 and then a newer version was re-released in 1986, but the song was written by Sting. Therefore, I do believe dutchy is correct.

GREAT JOB DUTCHY!!!
This is so cool! I got the names of the artist but not the songs. I reall don't listen to that type of music so this is a lot for me to even get the names. It was a fun one. And those that are bashing this one, have you not been taught if you can sat nothing noce don't say anything at all. Everyone is intitled to his or her own opinion but it is how you say it. Don't be so harsh about it. To the person who wrote this teaser good job!!! And keep it coming!
That was say something nice! I had a couple of spelling eras was typing to fast and did not think to proof read b4 sending it but you get what I was saying!!!!!!
This was fun!!! I got the band Coldplay but not the song. I'm just too old I guess. (But not to old to get the others Thanks for helping me to wake up.
Those were great. I got some, and really had to think about them. Alot of fun!
I knew a few of the newer songs...but the older stuff stumped me I enjoyed!
EXCELLENT thought process, and great teaser. For the bashers here, instead of saying negative things at someone elses expense, put your mind in motion, and lets see how intuitive you are at creating your own teaser so someone can bash your mistakes. Get a little love in your heart.
I got them all
YAY!!!I got them all!!! I am so excited!!! And I love all these songs!! And Quuen is like the best ever!!! Thanks For a great teaser!! ~Snaps for you~
that was great got all but coldplay love music alot so good job!!!!!!
that was fun, though didn't figure them all out
Great Teaser, Great Music!!
Wahhhhhhhhhh! Okay, the youngsters here couldn't get them, and some of you are feeling old by knowing these, but in that regard, I now feel ANCIENT! Well, at least I was able to recognize some of the artists. Phew!
I love it, love it, love it! Keep 'em coming Dutchy!!!
That was interesting. Challenging. That was good.
i GOT most of them, but I've never, ever been good at remembering who does what song and what the song's title is; just one of those things. to lmurray, why don't you try to be more blunt, instead of being so sentimental amd mushy! Say whay you really think... I thought it was fine, but, I do have to say that the last one, the clues were not exactly on target," refrain from remaining" doesn't mean "don't", sorry if I didn't quote exactly but I can't look at it without erasing my comment... Anytime someone does titles of movies, books, music, it's always going to be more known to some than others, c'est la teaser! Thanks for a good job!
ok, sorry, i looked again and i guess you meant "refrain from remaining, on your feet..." to be "Don't Stand...", so OK, it's a little confusing with the comma but sorry, it's not as off as I thought!
GREATTT TEASER BABii!!
that was stupid. sorry but it's true.
I loved this one and wasn't too old to know the answers lol
as to the young audience thing....
I'm fairly young...and I got all but #1 & 3......
Oh well
I'm fairly young...and I got all but #1 & 3......
Oh well
*sigh* i'm too young for this. and i listen to old music, like Bach. Laugh if you want. but i didn't have a clue.
Anewaiz, wat I meant was Great JOB!!!
Anewaiz, wat I meant was Great JOB!!!
dumb bashers. go find someone else to pick on. if you can't appreciate a good teaser, you should at least of the brains to refrain from totally killing someone. and plus, when did someone die and make you critics ultimate authorities? go get a life.
OK, so i'm bashing the bashers. excuse me for strong language. but you idiots that just don't get it and don't want to be embarrassed by lack of knowledge, go get a life.
Blue light special at Target, only 99 cents each for a life.

BORING CUZ I DIDN'T GET A SINGLE ONE!!! LOL JUST PLAYIN IT WAS ALRIGHT
! Wow I got them all except # 2, bummer. I liked that rock and roll, . Keep up the good work.
Thanx, .
Thanx, .
Why does Braingle allow such ridiculous comments as MEKABOO27's 'if you can sat nothing noce" and her "correction" "spelling eras" and "typing to fast"? She needs to be booted.
And.... BMC55, you should keep your stupid comments to yourself
And.... CK MONKEYMAN, you are bashing the bashers by being a basher. Can you say "idiot"?

terrific! left me totally stumped, but loved it
awesome teaser! I also wasn't able to get them all, but I had fun trying. The songs were difficult because I've never heard of them, but I was able to get the artists. terrific job.
This was a great teaser so fun
Yes, there's mucho mispelling and grammar mishaps in these comments, but it's obvious what a person is saying, and I don't think anyone should be booted for having bad spelling; that's just not the right spirit, and they might be 8 years old, gimme a break!
Thanks for saying that Shawneeo. I wanted so badly to respond to the comment made by halfmoonscott right after I read it, but I decided to wait and give myself time to simmer down. I appreciate the way you stated what needed to be said. I will add nothing more b/c it would be a waste of my time to respond to his negative energy!
good one! and I do agree that it was the Police that get credit for the song not Sting. He may have wrote the song, but for the purposes of the teaser it should be the police.
You must just be trolling, HalfScott, because you are the only one breaking the rules here. Or didn't you read the instructions right above the comment entry box? No negative or abusive comments, and don't suggest spelling corrections. That would cetainly give you more time to proofread your own posts.
Nice job, Dutchy. I really enjoyed this teaser.
Nice job, Dutchy. I really enjoyed this teaser.
Excellent work!! I enjoyed the challenge. I didn't get any of the songs but I got 3 of the artists and some of the words in the song title. I hate to see all the negative comments because this is a very good brain teaser. You don't have to already know something in order to enjoy having your brain stimulated. Great Job D.
Very amusing! How do you come up with that stuff?
very clever and fun
i got every one
the songs were great
the artists first rate
your teaser was very well done

Nice one. I got Don't stand to close to me but I think that was done before Sting went solo.
Here are some other songs by "Donut eating enforcers of justice".
Communique in an non opaque container.
Moving about on Earth's main satelite but not too fast.

Thank for all the possitive critique and I'm glad many seemed to enjoy it...
as for the others .... well ...........

This was a great teaser, dutchy! I enjoyed it as did many others! Just ignore the derogatory comments as this is a good teaser!
Great job. don't stand so close to me was the "Police" though Sting sang the song. I would like to see more of these.
SHARE WITH ME IF YOU WILL THE INTRINSIC VALUE THAT IS ESCAPING ME ABOUT THIS TEASER.
I DIDN'T LIKE IT LAST NOVEMBER AND EVEN LESS AS A RERUN
I DIDN'T NOTICE THE SPELLING ERRORS, BUT SHOULDN'T THAT BE THE JOB OF THE EDITORS?
WHO'S MINDING THE STORE?

Sting wrote it when he was with the Police, and he performs it now (don't tell him that I think it's really lame and he should let people remember it as it was, with the Police), so it's alright to say "poisonous insect injection," but what would "Police" be? "Municipally funded servers and protectors" or "fuzz?"
Who's Coldplay? I got the title and the name, but I've never heard of this band? Do they fit in between the Stones and Queen?

I'm too old.
I'm not into pop music. Opera or Classical, then maybe I got a chance.
Ditto the last two comments.
Schem... calm down, a little bit! The teaser was great for a certain generation or listening range of individuals.. I can fortunately recognize ALL of the tunes and their composers. Wildly fantastic! Keep submitting, you're doing good!
I liked this one, even though I only got 3 of 5. Just don't know the new bands out there... must be getting old!
it was alright
I thought this 1 was gr8. I've never heard of Coldplay, but I figured them out NE way. Human nature can be cruel at times, maybe some just woke up on the wrong side of the bed and need to blame some1 else. Good job and keep them coming.
I only knew a few of the songs and groups, but I still got several of the titles just based on the clues. Unbleached natural sweetener (or however it was worded) could only be Brown Sugar and I don't even think I know that song. Can't think of it anyway.
LOVED THIS TEASER! I had fun with it. Unique and entertaining.

Brilliant, brilliant teaser - one of the best I've seen. More like this, please (or I might have to write some myself! )
I got them all except for the last one. I guessed don't stand so close to me but the description of the artist threw me off. It wasn't Sting it was the POLICE. Granted Sting was the singer but it wasn't from his solo career. But nonetheless, I loved this teaser. More like it please.
Liked it because I didn't really know any of the bands (other than Guns and roses) or songs but could still figure most of them out
i didn't try to name the songs i'm bad at that but i did try the groups guess it showed my age instead of queen i said quenn latifa instead of coldplay i said 99 degrees instead of sting i said scorpion but got gun and roses loved them in high school others i think i was right. i usually get the logic ones.
Nov 16, 2006
Well, I have never heard of that Queen song (I'm a DJ...have been for 20 years)...and, I hate to be a stickler, but the last one is a Police song, not a Sting one... Otherwise, very witty!
This was great I really don't listen to a lot of rock nowadays, but it use to be a fave. Therefore, so was your teaser, I did not get Coldplay. I just forgot Too old ,you know Thx for making my day.
I liked this teaser the first time I did it! Hey schmedly...why don't you use up more space?? That way we can truly see how uncool you are!!
Years from now readers will view these teasers and may ponder their reverence, but will recognize the nature of commenter. These crude and rude comments will, as long as there is a Braingle, enshrine them in a hall of shame.
But for now, this teaser was challenging for me, since I'm not a contemporary music person, but it was well written and fun to try and to work out.

I really enjoyed this teaser as much as I did last year. All the other commentors are making me feel old because I got them all and I'm only 25. As for Coldplay, they are alot more popular now than what they were this time last year. They have quite a few chart topping hits. Including Fix You. The lead singer is married to Gwyneth Paltrow.
nice one!
Okay, but I felt it could have been written better ("poisoned" animal injection.) I was also thinking the Police for the last one, so that probably would have been the better choice.
Good job!
I l-u-v Brown Sugar and the Rolling Stones and got that one right off! So you can see which end of the age spectrum I'm on!!!
Got all the performers and a couple more songs just from the excellent descriptions; enjoyed this teaser-- congrats to the submitter.
IMmurray and a few other cohorts are REALLY disturbing I'm relatively new here; why aren't these comments removed according to the instructions atop this box??

Period or exclamation point after "disturbing"--sorry!
I have to agree with royaltrecords, sorry
And mrtickles
Kudos! This was great fun, maybe because I knew most of them, but partly because I took my time and kept looking back at this teaser until I got as much as I could. I figured out the artist for #1 but had to guess the song, and I was right but didn't know until I checked. I got #2, #3, #4, but was nowhere close on #5. It was fun to try though!
I only got the last two.
but you ROCK dutchy!
but you ROCK dutchy!
Great teaser
For those of you who say your too young to get any of these answers, think of it this way:
I'm twelve. I have heard of every one of these songs. I knew what they were. You can't be 'too young' to know a song. My parents listen to them all the time, so I recognized the older ones. And, you can't be 'too old' to know a song either. I was in the car with my dad today, listening to a pop/hip hop station and he knew just as many of the songs as I did.
And for those of you who think that there wasn't a range of old and new songs, 'Clocks' by Coldplay is a fairly new song (it just won a grammy or emmy or whatever the music awards are).
And by the way, I loved that teaser

Thanks sftball
haha LOVVVVEEE IT!!
The teaser was almost as much fun as reading the comments! ... and I thought the teaser was great. Some clues could be worked out even without knowing the songs or artists well. Thanks!
Yesssss!!!!! What a great teaser ! I don't know all the songs, but I figured them out, and the artists were easy. Great teaser.
Once again, this teaser is marked "You have already rated this teaser", even though I have no memory of it. Ah well, it was very clever and fun the second (or is it maybe the third?) time around.
Awesome job! Love this one!
I'm with craniac. I am used to seeing repeats. Waiting for your remark(you know who)
LOL doehead! I won't say anything, b/c I couldn't figure out why it said i'd already rated the teaser!! Then I found my comment from 3 years ago to the day!
This time I got all the artists and the last 3 titles; still enjoyable! The r-a-n-g-e was certainly there--over 35 years!! Something for every1; we don't have to get everything right for it to be a very good teaser.

This time being old didn't help me one bit!
Wasn't referring to you wordmama. You can make all the remarks about me you want. Yours are constructive remarks.
"A Rock in perpetual motion," The Rolling Stones was Great. I knew none, yet loved them all. It's the way you say...
Keep Um Coo~ing

NICE ONE, KEEP THEM COMING!!!
I have commented before on the Trivia's, and most people there are short but generally sweet. The comments on this brain teaser are ridiculous. If you enjoyed it, great! If you didn't, you don't comment and go on with your life. Except to make a correction of fact that you think is right, what is with all the other crap comments? After all, isn't this all for FUN?
oops! I didn't mean to imply that the people who comment on the trivia games are short themselves; I meant that COMMENTS are short. I guess I should be booted off for that error, eh?
sorry to make you wait so long for my comment (you know who). I was reading the new teasers after I figured out I had already seen this one. I am still waiting for the war you promised me.
Nice.. I've heard of all the artists, but this genre isn't my thing so..
i nearly got the "Sweet Child 'o Mine" one. when it gave the hint to it, i immediately got the "guns 'n roses" part, but for the song, i thought sugar baby. im so dumb. great teaser!
p.s. Sting is the singer for the Police!!

I love this riddle
Very glad it incorporated Clocks by Coldplay!
Very glad it incorporated Clocks by Coldplay!
I did get the titles to a couple, but not the artist. These songs are for younger people than me. I have never heard any of them. I had fun tryin g though.
My comment is similar to Babe's - but I got 4 out of 5 of the artists. I have never heard of any of these songs.
Interesting puzzle! I like this type! Thanks!
Interesting puzzle! I like this type! Thanks!
I never listen to music, so I didn't even try.
I have heard of some of the songs, but nto the artist and some of the artists but not the song. The only one I got both parts to was Sweet Child O' Mine by GNR
I liked this one more than most. However, I must point out #3, "Perpetual motion of small rock". "Perpetual" isn't required, and "rock" should be plural, "rocks" to produce Rolling Stones.
The trouble with music and sports related trivia games is they often rely upon knowledge that isn't very broad based outside the writer's own personal world. The Rolling Stones and Queen may be globally well known by many generations but Coldplay and their catalog of song titles has hardly attained the same level of common knowledge. Imagine expecting the average American to know about captains of English national cricket teams from the last century in order to solve a teaser.
I loved it thought it was very clever and entertaining.
I did better this time. I hope that means I'm getting smarter as the years go by. Thanks for the puzzle. Cutebug, you never listen to music? You're missing a lot out of life!
Got 'em all.
Robert Smith should do a cover of Clocks, so when he sings the line, "Am I part of the cure or am I part of the disease," we can say, "Oh, I know!"
Robert Smith should do a cover of Clocks, so when he sings the line, "Am I part of the cure or am I part of the disease," we can say, "Oh, I know!"
Fun and entertaining. I did not get #5. TBTabby got my attention when she said I should sing Clocks. Then... oh, she meant that other Robert Smith. The curse of a common name.
I got both title and artist for #2 and #4. I got Queen and the Rolling Stones but never heard of the songs. I got "Don't Stand So Close To Me" but it was recorded by The Police (a band in which Sting is a member) in 1979 not Sting. Sting did not go solo until later.
