The Werewolf Game
Game #3169: THE RESISTANCE (2/1)
This private game is moderated by HarryPutter. Please read the rules and contact the moderator with any questions or concerns about this game.
This game finished in 8 rounds.
This game consists of a team of Resistance (humans), a Commander (the Seer), vs spies hiding among them (wolves).
I'll add everyone who wants to join as long as you're not a known inactive
Game Outline
At the start of each round, I (the mod) will post 3 randomly generated team lists. Each player will then post whether they approve or disapprove of each team. Here's an example -
So I will post the 3 generated teams:
Team 1 - Spider, Windsor, evi, and absy
Team 2 - Jessey, Hoo, Rene, and Spider
Team 3 - Windsor, Jessey, Rene, Absy
Your post can be:
Team 1: Approve
Team 2: Reject
Team 3: Reject
The team that gets the most votes (Approve - Reject) will do the mission. The mission is a secret vote that occurs through PM. The mission can only succeed if alll players send me "Success". However if even one player sends me a " Fail", the mission fails. I will PM each team member telling them exactly what to do, so don't worry if this sounds confusing
Ultimately, the rebels want all missions to succeed to defeat the corrupt government. The spies want the missions to fail to sabotage the rebel force.
If 3 missions succeed: the Commander (seer) gets a box with his/her divinations
If 3 missions fail: the wolves get a shortlist of seer possibilities.
I'll be walking everyone through this to make sure there is no confusion, but you'll find after round 1 the game is extremely simple. Essentially, it is just two extra votes (one is public, one is secret), but it adds a lot more info for people to work with.

Haha ... Sounds confusing as poo but fun as heck HP. Lookin forward to another fun, intense game!
Writing it out sounds confusing but it's really super simple. When the game starts, I'll be pretty much walking you guys through it. The nice thing about this configuration will be that there will be different strategies and logic to win.
One of the biggest issues with wwg is people just shoot at random till the seer comes along, but this adds the possibility of more rationale to shots.

Just to make it extremely clear, I will simulate some gameplay action.

Mod Post
"Hey all, welcome to the game! Here are the 3 potential groups that could be going on a mission this round. One group has all true Rebel forces, one group has at least one spy in their midst looking to sabotage the mission, and the third group is completely random! Here are the team possibilities...
Group 1 - DrHoo, absy, and windsor
Group 2 - Spider, Jessy, and Evi
Group 3 - zx, Jayo and MDC.
Now all of you vote on which group you want to see start a mission! Remember even ONE fail vote completely sabotages the mission! Choose carefully!"
Spider post:
"*stumbling around drunk* hey folks i think jayo is a wolf and therefore i say
group 1 - approve
group 2 - approve
group 3 - reject
later...or is later now? "
Windsor post
"*curtsy* hello sir Dan of Camelot, you are a fool! Ser Jayo is certainly human. In fact, all of group 3 is extremely trustworthy, perhaps they belong to a particular knighthood. I will vote as followws:
approve, reject, approve! "
Evi post
"uuuh I will just quickly vote o.o
group 1 - approve, group 2 - reject (spider shouldnt be allowed to vote under the influence), reject "
Mod Post
"voting is over! looks like the most approved group is group 1! DrHoo, absy, and windsor will be going on a rebel mission, will it succeed?"
----------- End Banter ----- (Night ensues)
DrHoo (a rebel) sends PM to mod - "ALAS moderator, I want this mission to Succeed! "
Absy (a rebel) sends PM to mod - "SUCCESS!"
windsor (a spy - aka a wolf) sends PM to mod - " I will vote for this mission to fail!!"
-------End mission----------- (Day begins)
Mod - the mission FAILED due to a single failure vote. Who sabotaged the vote?? Nobody knows. Let's generate some new groups!
Apologies for the caricatures.
Now you can see that the wolf doesn't necessarily need to make the mission fail. They can bluff people into thinking theyre a trustworthy rebel only to sabotage them later. There is a lot of strategy that can go into this as you can see.

Innnnteresting ... I just tried to explain the concept to Rene, because I just realized this might be an awful game for him to start on LOL ... he gave me the blankest of looks. I hope once he logs in and has a look see and participates a little he'll get the hang of it
Sounds good HP

Hahaha you do nice impressions Harry!
It sounds interesting. One question:
If 3 missions succeed, the seer gets a talk box with his divinations, right? What if the seer has already found a wolf? If the wolf gets invited to the talkbox s/he will know the seer, no?

Yes, I'll always give you the count
Yes, there will always be one team with no spies, one team with at least one spy, and one team that is completely randomly generated.
Tomatoes:
Sorry, I should have mentioned only the human divinations will be allowed in!

Agreed, Jess. I see this becoming one of those games that has number counts in the titles, but with different roles (spies vs rebels) and story lines.
Well, the upside to getting shot in one game is making this one, which sounds cool.
It's a disease, not a punch line

Oh, one question, stupid one, but just to be 100% sure. These missions are in addition to regular banter and deduction correct? Our votes are not solely based on these missions, it's just used as more practical information, like a clue in other games?
Srsly misspelled banter ... whew. Glad I caught that one like 9 hours later.

Spider is too quiet. That seems suspicious.
Oh wait, we haven't started yet.
Doesn't matter, voting Spider in round 0.

Ah. Yes I grew up watching the show. Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker years were the best. The family enjoys the newer shows and I like them well enough.
David Tennant reigns over all.
